  1. Just when I thought Roland shoved the whole AIRA concept in a cupboard...
  2. The iOS app pales before the Ctrlr pc app that Frankie wrote though. https://v-combo.webspace.rocks/vr-software
  3. I take it you're unaware of the Korg NTS-1? While admittedly being twice the price, also offered programmable synth engines with plug in reverbs and delays which are quite astonishing. Also, Hirotribe? An evolved Monotribe? The unit that practically jumpstarted the journey back to more traditional analogue synths? I'm very interested.
  4. I use Guided access mode with Forscore, which means that the screen can blank if you're not using it, but it never locks because you've selected one app to be able to be used. So then you tap the screen and it's immediately awake again. Also you never risk accidentally closing the app either.
  5. I mean, I will, but you're also right. Sometimes the most useful and enjoyable keyboard is the one you have under your fingers.
  6. It's probably an old Sharma with the front off.
  7. Roland VCombo VR-09. It arrived with exactly the right features and exactly the right price for me at exactly the right time. I still really enjoy it even though I'm more aware of it's flaws.
  8. It always worries me when email addresses aren't parsed correctly. It's not like there aren't a million pre-written algorithms to do that, so why write their own buggy one?
  9. This sounds like a validation and input sanitation issue. Whoever wrote the code to stop cross site scripting attacks and code injection took some common... uh... "shortcuts". Validating email is complex and often done wrong, resulting in other potential vulnerabilities or issues.
  10. U ok hun? Any particular reason for foisting this emotive reactionary thread on all of us?
  11. Yes, old music is killing new music. That's why in 5 years we will all only be listening to Bach. Oh, sorry, I thought we were talking about old music.
  12. It's 2022 and grifters have ruined the internet. Use a password manager, even if it's a small anonymous paper notebook. No theif is going to ransack your house and take a notebook. Please, use a password manager.
  13. Ohhhh, the V is like the Yamaha VKB-100 Vocaloid. The madlads!
  14. After listening to those videos I wonder if they'll have a vocoder. Something in the MicroKorg / Mininova space.
  15. I quite like the stamping tool. You can make your own stamps. I made ones for guitar chord fingerings.
  16. forScore allows you to make mulitple layers of annotations. So you can have different notes for different types of gig.
  17. Harmonics and the fibonacci number sequence have a realtionship but it's a bit of a strech to go from there to Piano inventikn.
  18. What to the what? You can get a Minilogue for that and still have change for some dignity.
  19. The other thing is if it's a trash gig take a trash keyboard and pocket the money. Those new Casiotones will be mlre than enough.
  20. It sounds like a joke to me, you know, like a guitarist.
  21. Linuxsampler plays GIG files or SFZ, Sforzando files. You can get some sets from https://www.pianobook.co.uk/ or look at https://musical-artifacts.com/ Fluidsynth plays SF2 files.
  22. Bach for the history, Rachmaninov for the challenge, Elton John for the populists and Errol Garner for the joy.
  23. This handy website has two suggestions https://v-combo.webspace.rocks/gear
  24. If @one_fungi still has a problem, why not?
  25. It'll probably sound fine if the amp isn't a total dogegg and the mic and PA are quality. We've got pretty good at making things sound... 'pretty good' in the 21st Century even with weird audio routing. It's not like we're still kicking around Carlsbro and Peavey stuff from 1992. I went to a cricket match with a live band between innings. The only thing I could hear, being in the top tier stand and side on to the stage, was the drums and the lead guitarist who mic'ed through the amp, so if OP is setting PA up for a cricket match then maybe it'll help?
