  1. Well the Z-Stand came in and I removed the legs on the Seven and put it on the Z.

The difference in rigidity is night and day. No more shimmying. With the legs just my warm up of playing scales would be enough to start rocking the boat. Now rock solid and finally a joy to play without being distracted by the flex.

After playing this daily the last several weeks, I am working on my list of quibbles which I'll be sure to post here.

Knowing that other owners are not having a stability issue with the legs, mojo, why haven't you looked underneath to see if there is something wrong and contacted Crumar and/or your dealer for a solution or replacement?

Can you share a short video of this side to side motion you're seeing/feeling?

  2. This leg issue is something that needs chiming Im from Crumar. I would be surprised its a design flaw, sounds more like an assembly issue. If the leg sockets are angled correctly and the legs firmly screwed into place, why would the instrument wobble? Unless the legs need some cross bar support?

There is near 0 motion from the Seven on legs in this video. Granted he doesnt dig in like many piano players do, but an X stand would be much shakier than what we see here.

  3. Any comments on smooth sound transitions and how it works when switching multis and signals in the FX chain?

Not surprising a weighted action instrument feels heavy when coming from synth actions exclusively, Im most curious about how it compares to CP4 and/or the current Casio action, or the TP-100 used in other light weight stage pianos.

  4. Understood. My best shop in the area never has Kurz on the floor unless its on consignment. Nords only on occasion - typically one and they sell the floor model, no stock. Plenty of Roland and Yamaha but only a few pro models. Casio, Kawai - only the home consoles and starter instruments.
  5. This answers the question "what would a guitar amp maker offer a keyboardist?"

    Basically, a guitar amp.

    LOL conspiracy theories abound....

Rogue guitarists plot to drown out keys (and everyone else) in all band situations by offering specialty gear for other instruments. Have you seen VOX's new line of cymbals made from foam? Bass amps with an LPF permanently set at 75htz.

  6. I think its a quite a feat that SL has put together this feature set at this price point. Its staggering really. If it takes them a little longer to get it out the door so be it. My only fear is how buggy it will be and will they get firmware updates out to fix quickly.
  7. Id imagine ideally the keyboard itself should be about 26 to 29 from the floor. Is that what we are seein here? Youd obviously use an adjustable bench, chair, drum throne what have you to get you where it feels best.

I just finished a piano gig using an X stand and slab digital with a typical stackable chair and it wasnt great. I needed to get my arse up a few inches for lack of flexibility in the X stand or chair - I used a throw pillow.

  8. I would rather get a root canal without novacaine, while sitting on a bed of rusty nails in the dentist chair than play piano on a TP/100 action, but that's just me.

I despise it for piano playing. I cannot figure out why it's so widely used.

Because Yamaha, Roland, Korg and Kawai don't sell their actions to other developers and Fatar's TP-100 is lighter than the TP-40 and better than anything from China like Medeli or Williams or what have you.
