  1. Repeating myself. I have the Numa X 88 and the Numa X GT. I also have a Nord Grand. I like both of the Numas, sounds and key bed, better than the really good Nord Grand. We all have our own taste, but try (if you can find one) before you buy.
  2. I just received a Viscount Soul 273. Haven’t played it much but my first impression is very good. Regarding the 9 virtual contacts, they really work as advertised! I think the comment above is correct. The magic is in the sensors. I think virtual is a little misleading, as there really are 9 discrete tonewheel sounds. And they are not randomly generated as they are repeatable when you press the key.
  3. Just received two magnetic music racks for the Numa X. They are great! Finally, I do not have to take a music stand. The magnetic music racks are well built and hold well with the magnets. And you can further attach the mounts with build in latch screws. Highly recommended. BTY, I have an iPad Pro sitting on mine.
  4. Not quite correct. I believe I explained this earlier in this thread. The APs are multi samples. Then, modeling is applied for resonance, etc. The EPs are true and full physical modeling. Not only did Studiologic tell me this but I have 2 Numa Xs that confirm the multi samples.
  5. EPs are modeled in the Numa X. However, the APs are sampled. They do use modeling to add other AP characteristics. And they do it well. From Studiologic: “The "Acoustic modeling" makes acoustic piano sounds even more real. By reproducing string resonances, duplex scale, release note, key off and damper noise you will have the feeling of the real thing.”
  6. I have a TouchMix 8 and this is exactly how I use it. Works great while being an excellent mixer.
  7. There is no way the YC73 is 10x better than the Numa X. The only thing the YC73 is better for is the organ. I went through all of this and ended up with 2 Numa Xs. In all fairness, to each their own. We all have our own preferences. Just enjoy.
  8. Why is everyone always worrying about what will be next year? I say go with what you like and make it work. That is like waiting for the next iPad or iPhone - you will never get the latest because things change too fast. It took me a long time to accept this approach, but it works. If I thought an XK4 was for me, I would get it now. Who knows about tomorrow?
  9. Good information, but certainly shows how we have differences of opinion. I have two Numa Xs, the 88 and the GT. I also have a Nord Grand with Kawai action. And I played the MP7. For me, the Numa X wins in usability and I really like the TP110. And the GT is in another class. Try it - even has true escapement. I do prefer both Numa X actions overthe Nord Grand and MP7. Many would disagree with me, but that is one of the values of this forum.
  10. Good suggestion. Also, take a close look at the PC board where the limiter circuit is, including component solder connections. A PC board crack or bad solder joint can wreck havoc with electronics.
  11. Good comments. Also look at the cost difference, weight (at least on the standard 88), and the upgrades that have already occurred. Although I have a Nord Grand and 2 Numa Xs, I'm afraid I am becoming a fanboy. Yes, kudos to Studiologic.
  12. Thanks for clarifying. This makes a huge difference. Keep up your great efforts. Not sure yet if I will use the app, but I will buy it and give it a try!
  13. The deal breaker for me, if I were to consider this app, is the need to be logged into iCloud. I cannot count on an internet connection when I am playing. However, and impressive effort and looks promising for many. Keep up the good work!
  14. What iPad holder are you using with the K & M 18880? Nice rig!
  15. Can you tell us more on your take away from Harris?
  16. I have exactly what you are considering. There is nothing I have thrown at it, including video, that it hasn't excelled at. As a reference, even the M1 Mini my wife has is incredibly powerful. Don't listen to the naysayers about GPUs, etc. It is all in the architecture. The Studio is a powerhouse, even the base model. Oh, primarily Logic, Pro Tools, and lot of power hungry plug-ins. And Craig, you should know better about waiting for the "next big thing".
  17. Just saw this. I have a Nord Grand and it does not have escapement. Nord told me it was removed but would not tell me why. This is one reason I am getting rid of the Grand. I expected, as Scott initially surmised, that it would have escapement.
  18. Try something with the latest TP400W - yes, escapement.
  19. The first Numa 88 I bought had the switch problem. Turning on was a bit of an issue. I returned the keyboard, got a new one, and now I am happy. I do a short push and the keyboard comes on. I have done this hundreds of times on two Numas - a Numa 88 and a Numa GT with no problem. You should not have to worry about that switch - it should work every time. For those of you with the issue, unless Gianni gives you an alternative, return the keyboard but do get another. As to likes and dislikes of the piano, try using the tweaks you have available, both just for the piano and also the keyed itself. Also, the TP110 is, of course, going to be different than the CP88. Look at the difference in weight. Wow, I'm starting to sound like a fanboy! Keep the comments coming - we will all benefit.
  20. I know this has been addressed, in part, in the past. But I'm looking specifically for success/failure in the cocktail/bar/winery event with just a keyboardist and a vocalist.Right now I cannot convince myself that I can get by with less than 88 keys. Oh, as you might have guessed, I'm focused on piano but do sometimes split for bass, etc.
  21. You won’t regret it. I like the Numa X much better than the Nord Grand I’m selling. As Dave said-great board, and not just because of the price,
  22. Looks like a great board, but the weight says no to me.
