  1. Well, Miles Davis said something to the effect ‘’there is no such thing as a wrong note”, or conversely, “there is no such thing as a bad note”. What is important is how you handle the situation.
  2. I have a lot more to worry about in my performing than whether the logo shows. I could care less.
  3. In the course of having a PC88MX, K2600, and a Forte, I have never had a problem with Kurzweil. And this is without using a UPS.
  4. Also note that the .2s are rugged. I had a speaker stand with a k10.2 fall over, off a stage. No damage and I’ve been using the speaker for several years since the “fall”.
  5. Maybe the original QSC Ks but not so much the .2 series. The bottom end on the K8.2s is also pretty impressive.
  6. I'm curious if you actually compared the two keyboards side by side, or are using the Numa X soundbites? I've found with my Numa that a little tweaking with the EPs and where necessary, the keyboard settings, you can do a lot.
  7. I kinda explained this in one of my prior posts, but not very well. I do not necessarily need PA speakers in my studio. The speakers I am referring to are for practice with my duo, which does rehearse in the studio without headphones. I do have good monitors, Adam A8Hs (which certainly could suffice for the rehearsal) but regardless am exploring a separate system for rehearsal. I keep all of my gig equipment in a closet in the garage and do not take it upstairs to my studio. In spite of what I said earlier, I will not use anything upstairs for gigs - my bad. I have received a lot of good information - thanks all!
  8. This is disheartening to hear about the build quality. Back in the day when I had a Motion Sound that was not an issue. Of course that was a long time ago.
  9. Good point, but I am the one getting old. Studio is 2nd floor, and I have a “fly away” closet in the garage. Just load into my truck and go. Don’t want to move stuff, light as the K10s are, up and down. So I guess I am only looking for the studio.
  10. Currently use K10.2s for gigging - mostly piano but some organ. Love them, but want something integrated for my studio that could also be used for small gigs. I was thinking about the Motion Sound KP-610S as stereo is important. Any ideas or experience? FYI, many years ago (John Fisher days) I did use Motion Sound. Thanks!
  11. The Numa X APs are not modeled - they are sampled. However, modeling is used for attributes such as string resonance, etc. The EPs, however, are modeled. They greatly improved the pianos in the first firmware upgrade (2.0). And they were good even before that. I think that you will see further updates in the not too far future. I would be interested in your impressions of the keybed. I have both the Numa X 88 and the GT and although I like both, the keybed on the GT is great! Love the escapement.
  12. My Numa X Gt damper pedal works exactly as it should.
  13. I actually think the TP100 was chosen because the TP110 had not been released. For my use, the TP110 is excellent for both APs and EPs. The response is very quick. I use a NUMA X 88 at gigs and a NUMA X GT at home. Both keybeds are very satisfying. The GT keybed is in a class by itself. I love the escapement.
  14. I've been unhappy with my Nord Grand ever since I realized they removed the setoff (escapement) from the Kawai keyed. I would not have bought it had I known this at the time.
  15. I use my Numa X in a duo. We use the audio mixer for my vocalist and my harmonies. Works great, and I no longer take a mixer. I also use the USB for iPad apps - control and actual audio. We use one dynamic mic and a condenser. Of course the condenser needs 48 volts, and I wish that capability existed with the Numa X. The fix is easily, though. Just get a battery powered in-line 48 volt adapter. Here is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08H24SBMS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. The master effects are great for vocals, and you also have individual EQ for each analog audio in. My setup is really simplified now. Good luck!
  16. Good and useful comments for those considering the Numa X. I don't want to seem a fanboy on this but as I said before, the 2.0 firmware made a huge difference. The Foster demo should have had the update, but who knows? Really, anyone interested in the board needs to try it. And as much as I like my Numa X 88, the GT is a big difference in playability.l
  17. Did you have the 2.0 firmware upgrade? It made a world of difference on both my 88 and GT in terms of sound and keyboard response.
  18. Dave, try Alto Music. At last look they had it in stock. I just bought the GT from them - great service. The action, to me, is great! FYI I have the Numa X 88 and Numa X GT. The GT is in my studio and the other is my gigging board. I really like this board. And as I said before, I also have a Nord Grand. I actually like the action on the Numa X GT better.
  19. I have a duo, and use 2 - K10.2s (mains) and 1 - K8.2 (monitor). I also play a lot of left hand bass. I do not need a subwoofer - not by any means. The K10.2s don’t have the specific bass setting the older K10s do, but they have presets and plenty of capability to EQ. You can get plenty of bass.
  20. Try this. You may have to get past the German and search a little, but I used this a while back. https://www.k-m.de/brand/us/support/support/
  21. This may help you. I have a Nord Grand sitting here with my Numa Piano X. I rarely play the Nord, and will likely sell it. To me, the pianos are at least as good, if not better sounding. Same with the EPs. And you have just enough tweaking to suit me. The USB midi/interface is great. I plug my iPad in and both the Midi commands and audio from the iPad app are ready to go. Currently using B-3X on the iPad with the Numa X. Couldn't be simpler. As to cost, I think you get a bit more for your money since Fatar (makes the keybed) owns Studiologic. Just might cut the cost a bit if there is less or no overhead costs added to the keypads. BTW - I do use the mixer. I am in a duo and it supports two microphones. As mentioned, I use the USB for apps on the iPad. This is a great setup!
  22. No question, Pro Tools is more intuitive than Logic X. Much easier for me to do precision edits. Having said that, you can do the same (with care) with Logic X.
