I watched an older EWF concert where their keyboard player was using an M-Audio controller without issue. Maybe you got duds, or are more particular than he was.
Todd Rundgren opened for The Tubes back in the early '80's. He was wearing cowboy boots on a wood floor stage. At one point he slipped and fell flat on his back. He didn't miss a note and finished the song on his back. When the song was over, he pulled his boots off and finished his set barefoot.
A very sad day indeed. I was fortunate enough to have watched him play in my youth. He was the epitome of humble. Prayers for his family and friends. RIP.
I remember an interview with Robert Plant years ago where he stated that he was surprised that "Stairway to Heaven" was their biggest hit. He said that he thought "Kashmir" was better, IHO.
Not only was he one of the most amazing players, he was also a world-class composer, IMO. Too many good players can't write a song to save their lives, but KE transcended that. He was definitely one of a kind.
