  1. If you stock KC, You"ll also have to stock a chainsaw.
  2. Some kind of rack mount submixer, in a rack. I would say Radial KL8, but getting up to 4 mic pres In your submixer for your Leslies might be attractive. I"m predicting most FOH sound companies do not routinely have keyboard submixers, while having a pile of DIs. I wonder how soon the CP88 might replace CP4 as a back line staple. Put a 'Hammond' sticker on a Mojo61.
  3. Agree, Moe. Go with 215s initially, then go molded. Just skip the cheaper ones and the ones between the 215s and molded, IMHO.
  4. It requires the lower manual, which I don't have anyway. It requires the lower manual, which I don't have anyway. Joe, huh???? The single MoJo61 certainly has a jack for sustain/Leslie change. I"m asking which latched foot switch will work with it. Maybe I"m misunderstanding something?
  5. OT---I need to replace my foot switch. For Leslie speed, I want latching. my old switch looks like roland or boss. I only see non-latching on Amazon. Which switch for Mojo61?
  6. For my tribute band, I provide a complete Stereo IEM system for 8 pieces. Regarding this thread, I will only add that our players who have elected ambient buds are all complaining about a significant loss of bass. Maybe that can be partially corrected with individual EQ, but not completely. Open vocal and drum mics provide a lot of stage input. Two (shotgun or 57/58s) pointed at the audience L&R and routed only the IEMs (or recording) provide plenty of 'connection with the audience.' I prefer to dial in ambience rather than having it be forced on me. (Some ambient buds have filters that allow the user to choose amount of bleed in) Whatever you do, you might need as much as 6-months to get used to IEMs, after which you might wonder why you didn"t make the change years ago. One more observation: How many of us go through this... 1) try the cheap buds that come with the IEM unit or worse yet, use smart phone buds. 2) after 6 months, buy more expensive universal buds with 2-3 drivers. 3) try a variety of universal bud products searching for something you"ll really be happy with. 4) ultimately bite the bullet and get IEMs molded to YOUR ears. I suggest that people skip as many steps as possible on their path to molded. Buy once, cry once. (Think about how much you are willing to spend on Keyboards or submixers or speakers; do you really want to let price be the focus on the piece of gear that is literally in your ears and the last piece of an otherwise expensive chain of equipment?) Hmmm. Sorry if this sounds pedantic/condescending/preachy. My intention is to help
  7. My female vocalist starts to fall off the edge of a small stage during setup. She instinctively reaches for something to avoid her fall. That would be my Nord Electro 2 on the 2nd tier of a standing position. Now both vocalist and keyboard fall to floor at the edge off the stage. No damage to the ELECTRO. Oh, and the vocalist was ok too. (Yes, I checked her out first, but I must admit my attention was split between the two potential casualties.)
  8. Just additional tidbits. I"ve powered multiple devices (typically wireless mic receivers or IEM transmitters) from a single power supply by purchasing power splitter cables (e.g., one PS output to 2 or 3 power inputs. Of course, the voltage of each device and the total amperage of all connected devices has to be consistent with the specs of the PS. I"ve also replaced the figure 8 cord with an adapter that has figure 8 plug on one side and two prong plug (120 volt-US) on the other for plugging the PS into a power strip without all that extra cord.
  9. Just sold my 142 gigging Frankenleslie last week. I literally started with the wooden case, and that was cut in half! Outkaster is so correct in that things can be replaced. Listen for obvious clicking when changing speeds. You can update with Trek solid state relay. (originally designed by Bob Schleicher). Look at the bottom bass board that rests on the ground for warping or water damage. Even though I babied mine, I had to replace it. If bad enough, warping interferes with the bottom drum rotor. Replacing was easy. Here are some websites that were valuable to me from memory... search Hammond and Leslie parts www.bborgan.com Bill Brown www.tonewheelgeneral.com www.b3guys.com www.trek.com www.valhallawoodworking.com fun site for looking at all things wooden for Leslies and clones. He is the supplier for the other websites offering replacement wooden parts. Oh yes, EBay and Reverb can be good sources for used. I found refurbished upper and lower motors that performed like new. At the risk of being self-serving, I will soon list my Speakeasy Vintage Music tube preamp rack mount. 122/142 Leslie 6pin output. Another option for you. Playing my Mojo61 through this was heavenly. Even my old Electro 2 sounded good. I think I will miss the Leslie more than my A100 chop. But i"m playing less organ, and these were just sitting in my garage.
  10. I second this question. I"ve plugged my Mojo61 into the aux-in on my CP4 with excellent results. On CP88 there is a dedicated volume adjustment knob on the 1/4' inputs. On the CP4, the highest volume is a tad low with the Mojo61, which means I have to set the default Mojo61 to +10 rather than +4 pro level. Not a big deal, but I hope the highest volume on the CP88 for 1/4' inputs will be slightly higher gain than CP4.
  11. A lot of potential buyers will be watching for the new sounds promised for September update. I could 'get by' with the current sub sounds, but more classic synth leads and pads, brass, etc. would finally get me to switch from CP4. I suspect I will forever be using a separate clone/key action for organ, so weak organ in a piano centric board means little to me.
  12. Yeah. Younger users can learn really weird stuff, like actual verses, with different note/lyric density than the chorus. Or, heaven forbid, a bridge, which is not only something you drive over. Get off my lawn. Seriously, this forum, with Nursers and Linwood leading the way, sounds like a great resource to enhance.
  13. Anyone try this? Maybe I gotta ask on Yamahasynth forum.
  14. I couldn"t find this so far: Can you insert a new entry between two existing entries in the CP88 live set? One frustration for me on cp4 is that I have to store a bunch of duplicate performances to make sure I don"t erase my work when rearranging a set list.
  15. My band, Chicago The Tribute, did 6 nights between Christmas and NYE at Harrah"s Laughlin last year. That was excellent fun, with a superb sound crew. So great to interact with audience, band mates, wives, and other musicians long after every show, rather than 'the comedown of tear down.' Then back to the room, rather than driving. But that is a destination gig, not going home every night.
  16. DanCV, if you are talking about 'We are One,' there is definitely polysynth horn sound in there, but I don"t think there are actual horns.
  17. I would draw a distinction between distortion purposefully put into a mix recording vs. lame playback equipment that doesn"t reproduce faithfully.
  18. Distorted DJ speakers of insufficient quality has become a sound itself, seemingly enjoyed by 'modern listeners.' Somebody shoot me.
  19. Did 20 years as a wedding band leader. Not once was there word one about about the color of any equipment. Now once I had a bad reaction to some skin medication, and the wedding coordinator wanted my red face far from view. It was close to Nord red. What did happen often was the request that the band provide PA and instrument/amp for an outdoor ceremony with the power source located where a power cord over the bridal and guest path was unavoidable. And nobody was in love with portable speakers, especially the photographers.
  20. Congratulations. Took me two years to realize the egos would prevent absolutely any improvement. Zip, nada... Vehement adherence to its the way I/we have done it doesnt even need to be stated to be fully active as an absolute. Especially, when it is unconsciously coming from the BL.
  21. This. The pull to the tonic being the first chord seems extremely strong in La Bamba. Not to mention the vocal lead-in which is dominant or subdominant, again suggesting the first chord is no doubt the tonic.
  22. I once purchased a couple of mic diaphragms that were used in Motion Sound stuff for my Leslie 142. Placed inside. There was too much mechanical noise for my taste. Went back to micing from outside.
  23. Thinking out loud Ed Sheeran. Maybe transpose to C rather than D. Mandolin RainBruce Hornsby
  24. So, in your opinions, is this newer foldable version gigable?
  25. I heard that noise through PA clearly, and band mates at rehearsal asked me to turn off the organ! NTL2009 I have a PDF from crumar. PM me with your email address and I will send it to you as an attachment.
