  1. Very interesting - thanks for posting! Is this the noise that I have called a "helicopter noise"? Sort of a low level wump-wump-wump-wump? How do you take the M61 apart to get to this? When I got mine, I could hear something, (a loose part, solder ball?) rattle/roll around inside. I just tilted the M61 until it seemed to settle to the lower right where I figured there weren't any electronics, and I really didn't want to return it for this. But once it is out of warranty, I will take it apart to remove it. It wasn't obvious to me which screws need to be removed to open it. Editing over USB would be good enough for me (preferable actually, I can keep my computer on my network to access other stuff), but maybe a switch could be wired to turn the wifi on/off for people who do use it? Yes, exactly that noise. wump-wump-wump-wump . I hesitate to call it helicopter because readers might mistakenly conclude that we are hearing Leslie whirl, which it is not. Anyway, Guido would send you instructions on the screws to remove to open the organ, and the dongle is obvious.
  2. I absolutely love my Mojo61. However, I was annoyed by the constant relatively low level, low frequency sound in the output that was reported to come from the WIFI device. At least one other poster here reported on this constant sound if I recall correctly. What I want to report now is that removing the WIFI device altogether is as simple as opening the organ and pulling out a little USB dongle that is obviously the WIFI. Now, that noise is GONE. I can still edit over usb, but not over WIFI unless I reinstall it. Since I would never do major edits on any keyboard on a gig, this is no big deal for me.
  3. Thanks Dave and Mark. Maybe their high end bump is perfect for me because my ears definitely have a high end dip I can take my mix out to the car, listen on apple buds, play on computer speakers, whatever, but I cannot get away from the pause for concern that is the final set of transducers located on each side of my head. But then my audience might be equally impaired.
  4. Ive been away from recording for decades. I have a Event 20/20 bas (1996 first version). Just got them out of the boxes they lived in for years. May return to a final fling of recording next year. Im not gonna do a huge room treatment. Any opinions of them?
  5. I agree with this, and I have found on several occasions that Im better off changing most often rhythms and sometimes notes or chords to fit with long established patterns of band mates, but sometimes they decide with me to change what they play, often asking for more isolated tracks of their instruments. Sure, you also never know if a burried sound contributed to a songs success.
  6. Its both an annoyance and really fun to learn parts from isolated tracks, only to have band mates say that doesnt sound right (because they are used to not hearing it or they have accommodated to the way their previous keyboard guy did it). Then, play the isolated track and watch their jaws drop!
  7. Thanks, David. Your solution is the one people would use for KeyLargo as well. I was hoping for more flexibility in the KL-8. There is a switch on the top of the unit. I think I see the word Aux. I wonder what that does? If one were merely to plug earbuds into the phones out, Cue gets you an entire mix in your ears but takes away the signal from BOTH main and monitor outs, AFAIK. But maybe the phones continue to have signals not set to Cue. Devil in details. Next step is read the manual when available. So far, I prefer the completeness of my A&H QU-sb, but that is 4 rack spaces.
  8. KL-8 has reached coming soon status on Radials website. Quite a bit of discription and high res photos. Looks like Cue to headphones removes that signal from main and monitor outs, which makes sense for silent practicing. However, there may be no obvious way to route an AUX send from FOH (of the rest of the band) only to monitor outs, which several of us have wished for, so that we can use our own monitors for everything. I hope Im mistaken!
  9. Busch, If you personally decide on MODX, I just hope you create sounds for the Montage, which can then also be used in MODX. (You have no doubt heard that Montage cannot read MODX files).
  10. Any news on this? MAP? Availability? Ability to connect send from FOH and route it only to monitor(s)? I find no sites selling. I could not even find it on Radial site. Why delayed?
  11. I've received a couple of so-called B stock items that were so perfect that I suspect the retailer was just using that language as a way to get around minimum advertised price.
  12. I just wish that Cabinet On (Leslie Sim) would not default to "ON" at power up. Instead, I'd prefer that it would default to status at power down. This change would please people using external sims or real Leslies. This change would have no impact on people always using the internal sim. Please, Guido?
  13. Re Mojo61: I don't edit it at the Gig either. But, if people think that editing MOJO via smart phone wouldn't be feasible at a gig, you would also have to conclude that editing via smart phone wouldn't be feasible for several digital mixers that offer individual players the opportunity to edit their monitor mix that way. Learning curve for a new approach for sure.
  14. I hear that particular noise, but it is so low level and I love the MOJO61 so much, that I just ignore it.
  15. Is the Rhodes on the Seven the same that is on the MOJO61?
  16. http://songgalaxy.com/ has the remove parts stuff.
  17. Thanks for the info - did it pop every time you pressed bypass? If so how noticeable was it? The honest answer is that I don't remember if it was on every press. I noticed it at home but not on gigs. The complication was that the Vent II was greatly reduced in volume in one channel on an intermittent basis. I don't even know if this was related. Before my tolerance ran out, it just died and off to service it went.
  18. My Vent II popped and then went into permanent bypassed state. What was amazing to me is that the bypass circuit was replaced free of charge in spite of the fact that I purchased the Vent II as a second owner off of Ebay. I'd call that excellent customer service.
  19. NoLights, Is the Ravenscroth noticeably better than CP4 piano?
  20. Chelsea, Many players are unable to audition clones before buying, let alone being able to compare clones side by side.
  21. Thank you, Busch, for the detailed discussion of the differences. Very helpful. Bad Mister adds that Genos does far less in the direction of sound design/editing than the Montage. Seems like Genos is very flexible for OMB on the fly, but it also requires attention to pressing the right buttons at the right time, a real performance skill in its own right. Personally, I might prefer to perform with fewer arrangement choices to allow me to concentrate on keyboard playing and background vocals.
  22. That is an amazing video. It so inspired me to let go and keep it from the heart. Immense thanks for this.
  23. I also played Light My Fire at teen clubs. In 1967 a girl in my class excitedly exclaims "Barry can play the long version." In 2007, my niece (great vocalist) hears me on my parent's home Wurlitzer. She excitedly exclaims "Barry can play the long version." The more things change...
  24. I have to admit that I'm tempted for two purposes: 1. Demo production, not as a finished product, but to show to the real band, asking each real player to make your part your own and make it better. Using this board would seem faster and more fun than painstakingly adding each track to a DAW, especially since I'm not a real guitarist, drummer, string player, or horn player. For this purpose, the Genos can be left at home or brought to rehearsal, but never to a gig. 2. Solos or Duos, cocktail hours. In my case, I would always want to play live along with it, and/or have a real sax, guitar, or singer with me. In this situation, the keyboard comes to the gig (but maybe with a cover over it This is only tempting cuz I'm older, retired, don't need to make money from music, so I'm simultaneously GASsing after a Montage, P6, OB6, and now Genos, thinking buy all of them rather than stew over which is best, not that it will actually happen.
