  1. I ordered a Roland RD88 and it gets delivered today. The plan is for it to replace the Casio PX S-3000 which becomes my backup/ take to rehearsal board.
  2. We binged Bosch on Amazon and signed up for Hulu"s free trial to watch Summer Of Soul and Nomadland.
  3. The only work-around I can think of would be to use the Jazz organ sound ( there doesn"t seem to be any internal Leslie sound on this organ) and put it through a Neo Ventilator pedal or something similar. You"d have to make sure to hit the bypass switch when you"re done. It"s a lot of trouble to go to for one organ sound.
  4. A tribute band I"m in had a 4.5 hour rehearsal yesterday to prepare for our first gig since August 2019. I have my Nord Stage 2 76 +vent set up with 40+ program"s stored as Songs, in order. I was looking to not have to schlep the Nord across the drummers lawn, up his steps and down more stairs to a space challenged basement. Solution: CT-S1 into Bose S1. I was able to put the 7 most used sounds in the memory slots and easily grab a few others. The limitation of only playing 1 sound at a time was overshadowed by the quality and range of sound in the Casio and the speed that allowed me to set it up the night before in 20 minutes. The compliments from my band mates on the sounds and disbelief of what I paid for the CT-S1 was icing on the cake. This board not only is great for backyard parties, camping/vacations, but is a good emergency backup keyboard for the other boards I always gig with.
  5. I bought a Black one yesterday. It will stay in my car as a backup to the PX3000 or when I"m gigging a Kawai ES 520. There is also one venue I do with a guitarist and the stage footprint is tiny. This S1 should work nicely. Great thread, gentlemen!
  6. I hoping this question can be answered by Kawai ES 520 (920) owners. What soft gig bag is a good fit? I"m using this mostly at home but there"s some gigs I want to take it to and I"m trying to keep the weight down.
  7. The hard to acquire Kawai ES520. Thank you Alto Music. I"ve only played it a few hours but it"s a huge step up from the Yamaha P-125 and Casio PX S3000. I"m keeping the Casio but I"ll be looking for a good home for the P-125.
  8. In December 2019 I ordered an ES 920 from Sweetwater. When February came and no expected delivery date I canceled the order. I"m still interested in it or the lighter 520 at sometime in the future. My question is after editing a sound how easy is it to save and then to recall and can you name them or are you remembering locations?
  9. I used Pure Piano on a 5 hour solo piano gig on Friday. It"s installed on an iPad Air 3rd gen. I also installed AUM to host Pure Piano along with Korg Module for Ep"s, Srings and pads. Doing that allowed me to control the volume of both apps with knob 1 on my Casio PX S-3000. I used a dongle similar to the one Reezekeys tried but mine doesn"t have the mini out, so I used the iPad headphone output. I was able to keep the iPad charged while triggering the sounds, all through the lightening port. Both apps responded very well with no glitches and not enough latency to distract or effect the performance. I was looking for a way to have better sounding acoustic pianos and Ep"s than the onboard ones in the Casio when playing solo piano. In the past I"ve used iGrand with some success but I"ll be trying Pure Piano more because I find it fun to play and easy to set up some different sounding/ eq"d pianos for variety.
  10. Question for anyone using this app: Is there a midi # learn function buried somewhere? I cannot get it to respond to volume changes either on an M-Audio 61 ES. Or a Casio PX S-3000 with knob 1 set to control volume over Zone 1 (full keyboard). I can get Korg Module and iGrand to work with those boards but I"m not able to get it with Pure Piano.
  11. What"s Become Of The Broken Hearted.
  12. I purchased Pure Piano late Monday evening. Tuesday I paired it with my Casio PX S-3000. I don"t own a laptop but I have an iPad Air 3rd gen and have installed iGrand, Ravenscroft and Ivory American D in Korg Module. I"ve spent the last two days playing Pure Piano and comparing it to those others mentioned. I am very impressed. Up until now I could never shake the feeling that I was playing an app. When playing Pure Piano it seems to be a natural extension of the keyboard and it only took slight tweaking of the velocity curve. There"s no discernible latency to distract you that up until now has always cropped up with those other iOS piano apps. I still have to do the real test and gig with it but so far it"s a pleasant surprise.
  13. Consciously or not I realize I have acquired no piece of gear over 40lbs Casio PX S-3000. 26lb Yamaha P125 26lb Nord Stage 3 Compact. 22lb Nord Stage 2. 76. 36lb QSC K-10. 36lb Bose S1. 16lb Bose L1 Pro 8 sub. 39lb.
  14. Do any of our Forumites have experience with the Bose L1 Compact or the newer Bose L1 Pro 8?
  15. I too owned an RD 300GX and was interested in the RD88 but turned off by the reports of short decay on the pianos as well as not impressed with some of the additional sounds. I decided to order and try pairing the Dexibell V7 module and play it from my Casio PX S3000. So far I"m happy. The velocity setting adjustments on the module are deep and while it can be edited and controlled from the front panel without much frustration it works easily with the Dexibell iOS app. I"m very pleased with the stock sounds. On the Casio I missed not having a decent Upright piano or Wurly EP sound and the Dexibell is a step up. There is also the ability to load the Platinum Pianos to take advantage of the best Acoustic Pianos from Dexibell. The true test comes in a few months when I"m able to do outside gigs again.
  16. My experience is similar to cphollis. The organ tone and Leslie effect on myElectro 3 and especially Stage 2 76 were significantly improved by adding the original Vent. But the Stage 3 Compact I use has a vastly improved Leslie sim and I never use the Ventilator on it.
  17. I just want to say this is a great thread and a perfect example of why, after all these years, I still come here. Thanks!
  18. I just purchased the Dexibell VIVO v7 module. I"m playing it from my Casio PX S-3000 and so far just using the factory sounds and getting much more detailed Acoustic Piano, Rhodes and Wurly then what is in the Casio. At some point I plan to try loading in some of the free Platinum Pianos.
  19. I hinted for the SP-34 Triple pedal for my Casio PX S-3000. The right size box was delivered on Monday. ð¤ð»
  20. Similar problem here. My 18 month old S-3000 had the E below middle C trigger at full volume, randomly. I"m friends with a Casio Sales rep and he helped arrange a no contact drop off to get it serviced. Service will replace a .32 cent sensor which is shipping from Japan. Unsure of the time frame but I have a Yamaha P125 as a backup Unfortunately I apparently failed to register the warranty thereby causing me to pay for labor. $60. ð
  21. I also heard that mid octave plunkiness on my PX5S. I found it to still be in the 001Grand Piano sound on the Casio S-1000 and S-3000. But the S-3000 also offers other pianos. The 004Stage piano works for me and there is a mono version of it on the S-3000. I"m wondering if you auditioned that Stage piano sample on the S-3000. BTW. I recall you"re a fan of the Roland RD 300 models. I played an RD 300SX and later RD 300GX for years and still miss it sometimes. (But not the length).
  22. When we started to self quarantine on March 13 and I knew I was going to stream a weekly music show I put away my practice piano, (Yamaha P125) and brought in my Casio PX S-3000. I really love the 04- Stage Piano sound and the way the action feels. In addition I"ve edited the string resonance and damper noise and it really enhances the piano experience. Someday I"d love to get an upright in my place but I have an older home with a smaller than standard front door/entry. I would likely have to have it widened. $$$ But that seems a long way off and a lower priority these days.
  23. Like many of us I"ve been doing a show, streaming live on Facebook every Wednesday evening. My piano and voice are running into a Soundcraft Notepad into a Bose S1Pro and the mic on my iPad pics up the sound. It"s better then many others I"ve heard but I"d like to run out of my mixer into an interface that would connect my audio directly into the iPad. I would monitor with headphones. A somewhat knowledgeable friend suggested I look at Focusrite interfaces. Can anyone shed light on what would work well? Budget would be around $200 max. Thanks and stay safe!
