  1. There are some really nice Rhodes sounds on the S-7000 but I’m not hearing much bark in any of them and the effects are baked in. There’s a couple of gritty Wurly pianos but the Rhodes not so much.
  2. Casio PX S-7000. Scheduled for delivery Wednesday (10/5/22)
  3. I have the S-3000 and gigged it quite a bit up until last year. It’s a great board for the money but I’d like a better action and I never really loved the a Hamburg Piano in the S-3000. The 2 other pianos in the S-7000 (New York & Berlin sound really good and although opinions on keyboard actions can be very subjective I’m fairly confident that there is a large improvement there and in the speaker system. I wish the 2 other pianos were in the S-6000 because I could have saved some $$ but I love the smaller form factor of those Privias and the way they look. I do solo piano gigs 75% of the time these days.
  4. I ordered a black S-7000 from Kraft today. They had a shipment arrive recently and all but 3 were gone. I did an unbundled deal and I’m paying $2473 after tax.
  5. Visit your other thread on this. I took the time to post screen shots and steps to create lists, songs and navigate them. How did your Saturday gig go?
  6. The S-7000 is the only one that has the 2 completely new piano samples, the New York and the Berlin. I’ve been playing the Hamburg in the S-3000 for over 3 years and would welcome the variety. In addition there’s a cool sounding Wurly in the famous PianoE/P sound bank called the Hatha which gives a nod to Donnie Hathaway’s sound. It’s better to my ears than any Wurly sound I’ve been able to coax out of the S-3000. Again, only available on the S-7000.
  7. You cannot. I put that question to my friendly Casio Rep (and musician friend).
  8. Not really sure about typical but this is right from The Real Book. I’m not a jazz pianist by any stretch but when the guys I play with attempt some Jazz standards we’re relying on Realbook charts to get on the same page. Pun intended.
  9. Set list Mode: Screenshot 1. Click the Do button, top left, 3rd one over. That gives you that drop down menu. Click Set List Mode: off. That gives you….. Screenshot 2. Set List Mode: on ✔️ Then go to the bottom of the page and click Press For Setlist. That gives you the drop down menu of all your Set Lists. Screenshot 3. If you’re making a new Set List click the + at the lower left corner.
  10. Link to UnrealBook help manual https://diystompboxes.com/unrealbook/manual/category/songs-menu/
  11. I also did not find UnrealBook intuitive when I first started using it. I did find the manual helpful but haven’t used it lately so I’m not sure what is not updated with the current version. Song list: Screenshot 1. UnrealBook usually opens with the last used page. Screenshot 2. You get to your Song Lists by clicking Song, top left and that brings up the drop down menu in alphabetical order including some actions such as “ Add List” Screenshot 3. When you click “Add List” you see this screen and then can click on the white boxes to start your list. Then name and save.
  12. This video is the best demo and review so far. I really like when Stu gets his hands on a keyboard.
  13. Jazz, do you have a date from Kraft when the ES120 will reach their store?

  15. You are the first person on this Forum that I’ve come across that has a Kawai ES 120. I don’t want to derail this thread but I’d love a separate post with a short review on the ES 120, if possible. Cheers! Ed W.
  16. If that’s a digital in a shell I don’t see any panel visible. It would be a tight fit with no way to tweak. Gabe uses the Nord Grand in concerts so there’s that…
  17. Congratulations on the new ES 520. I love mine but never use the organs. To control the speed of the Leslie: *choose organ sound that uses Leslie sim * press and hold Effects button * Screen will show Rotary1(slow) * press Value (up) button * Screen will show Rotary2(fast) * toggle between the two. There are other parameters available such as, acceleration speed, rotary speed, lower slow speed, upper slow speed, Chorus/ Vibrato. There may be an easier way to trigger fast slow but I’m not aware of it.
  18. For some solo piano gigs I’m using an iPad Air (3rd gen) with AUM hosting Ravenscroft 275 and Korg Module for occasional Wurly and Rhodes. I connect from my Roland RD 88 with a simple camera type lightening connector with an extra USB port for charging while using. I’ve done about 6 gigs with no noticeable latency at all. I can’t compare to the other app hosts mentioned. I struggled using and understanding Keyscape but tried AUM and it was very intuitive for me to use. I’ve begun experimenting with using VB3m and iFretless Bass in addition to the other 2 apps. The RD 88 allows me to have Ravenscroft and Korg Module on Upper 1 zone, VB3m on Upper 2 zone and when I choose Split on the Roland I have iFretless. VB3m and iFretless are running stand alone outside of AUM and still I’m not experiencing noticeable latency.
  19. I’m experimenting with playing the iOS Ravenscroft 275 piano from my Roland RD 88 and I really like it so far. I’ve edited and saved about 20 versions and I’d like to delete a bunch and keep my list to my favorite 8 or so. My problem is I cannot find the way to delete a User piano from my list. I cannot find a Ravenscroft manual at their site or in fact, anywhere. Has anyone figured this out?
  20. The SK-EX Piano samples that I love in my ES 520 are why I’m getting GAS for this lighter and smaller footprint Kawai.
