And now for something completely different, a metal harp pedal demo!

Strymon basically tries to make desert island pedals*- if you can only have one _________, theirs is the one you want.
* ignore the lack of power supply, sand in your gear, etc.

Personally, if my irrational desires override my practical side and a buy a V, odds are good it will either be something custom or- far more likely- one of Reverend"s versions. Their Volcano and the Ron Asheton sig are vert slightly asymmetrical, but otherwise have the rounded points and all those other things I like about Reverends: the medium neck, Korina body the bass contour knob, etc.

Miku into IJ? I might say a rosary for you, just for safety"s sake!

That"s actually my take on them as well. Love, love, love the look, just can"t get comfy with one.
There"s a guy on another board who has one from Moonstone. Absolutely gorgeous!

Assuming the V in question doesn"t have a badly positioned Jack- and some DO- the way to play a V while seated is with your thigh in the crotch of the V.

Reverb, as Caevan"s post implies, is a great site to shop.

Do you want a new guitar only? Any particular pickup configuration or color? Hardtail or trem?

It should go without saying, but I"ll say it anyway: always know the seller"s refund/return policy. The better the policy, the more confident you should be in your purchases.

Adding to Caevan"s pickup list (and agreeing with his suggestions), I have loved the Vintage Vibe, Rio Grande, Lace, Railhammer, Bareknuckle and TV Jones pickups I"ve either bought or been around.

Surf Green, you say?
I did a search for that color in your price range:
Interestingly, I found a Fender Telecaster body:

With that, you could follow Caevan"s lead and build from the ground upâ¦

I get that; I understand completely. Physical magazines are just different.
There are several magazines I"ve collected over the years. Only two titles are still in my possession.

Been there. I had a BUNCH of stuff stolen from my mail over the years. Worst were my applications to college- they contained checks to the universities- and we didn"t even realize they hadn"t been delivered. Fortunately, one institution called my parents to find out what was going onâ¦
Does GP have an electronic format? I understand the preference for physical mags, but getting e-magazines is better than NO magazine!

I've always wanted to customize a guitar myself. A squire seems to be a good choice for that. Not sure there is much I can do with a Tele other than pickups and tuners.
One issue with upgrading the various Squier models is that standard Fender parts, and after-market parts designed for Fender Guitars, won't necessarily fit into Squier Guitars. One issue is that the bodies aren't as deep as stock Fender, so if your go to replace the Trem system, the Sustain block is likely to stick out of the back of your guitar, and keep you from attaching the back plate. That's just one issue . . .
I haven"t looked lately, but I know some parts sellers are kind enough to distinguish between Squier and Fender compatible parts on their websites. WD Music was one I remember doing so.

One of the more famous Tele mods was created by Bill Kirchen:

I was in a used shop one day and saw a pair of nice Gretsch Electromatic semihollows in excellent condition, $500 each. Played them a bit and decided to go home and sleep on it. Went back the next day to buy the orange one.
â¦and someone had bought both.
(I have many stories like that.)

New: G&L Tributes, Yamaha Pacificas, Agile, Tokai, FGN, Hagstrom
Used: Reverend, Godin, Fret-King, Fernandes/Burny, Tokai, FGN, Hagstrom

I own several LPclones, none from Gibson or subsidiary. It"s hard to say which is closest to the original classic design.
I"m glad you found one to make your own!

Yes I do. Besides E Standard, my other major tuning is Robert Fripp"s NST (CGDAEG). I have one guitar tuned to DADGAD, and a pair of electric guitars I want to convert to full-time slide duties in either an Open G or Open C tuning. (Maybe each one gets a different one, IDK.)
That last one is a bit of a fairytale, though- I"ve been waffling on that for a few years now! ð¤ª.

OT: Cataract eye surgery yesterday.
in Guitar Forum

Late to the party, but great news on the successful eye surgery!
I"m due to have cataract surgery on both eyesâ¦in 5 or so years. My doc said she saw early signs that make me a likely candidate. Hearing about the successful results of others is understandably comforting.
As someone who has worn glasses since I was 8, I"m almost looking forward to it. Thing isâ¦I think I look better with glasses! ð
