  1. Agreed! For something unusual, I’ll suggest a Franklin Link glove-leather strap. I’ve gotten a couple of these, and they’re surprisingly soft on the shoulder, even though they’re not really padded. The construction gives them a bit of flex. https://franklinstrap.com/product/link-glove-leather-handmade-guitar-strap/
  2. I’m back! Amusingly, the Youngs of AC/DC used few pedals beyond basic functional stuff- tuners, wireless rigs, EQs. Their formula was basically humbucker-equipped guitars into British style (Marshall, Orange) amps turned way up. I know one used a boost pedal- probably Angus. So, echoing Winston’s post, about all I’d add for an initial attempt at this sound would be a “Marshall in a box” or distortion pedal if you don’t already use one as your main amp, plus a transparent boost style OD or simple volume pedal. That should get you solidly into AC/DC territory. The JHS Angry Charlie and Marshall Guv’nor are pretty popular Marshall in a box pedals. I’ve heard the Menatone King of the Britains/The King is getting some respect. (Disclosure: I don’t own any of these.) Dialing in Isis’ guitarist’ actual sound might be a little trickier. There might be a hint of other effects: distortion, fuzz, reverb, chorus, etc.- thrown in, but if so, they’re using it barely on.
  3. I listened to the video, and have ideas, but I’m RIGHT about to go to bed. I’ll comment more later. Let me say this, though: one of the tools I use (besides my own ears & brain) is a sire calle Equipboard. They have lists of the gear musicians used to record their music. Type in a name, see what they’ve been spotted using. https://equipboard.com That said, Isis sounds a lot like they’re aiming to sound like AC/DC. So even if you can’t find Isis’ gear, you could look to see what Angus & Malcolm Young have used in their storied careers.
  4. Update: mom liked it so much, she wants me to get another chuck roast and do it again, soon. You can’t get bigger praise than that!
  5. D’OH! “My brain is what I forget with”, as my dad says. I got the description backwards: it was NOT cherry wood, it was walnut, and the pickguard was red. Still looked like a cherry bonbon Tele, though. Got THAT part right.😜
  6. It took me a while, but I finally remembered what your Telebastard reminded me of. There was a guy on another board who had a custom Tele with a glossy-finished cherry wood body (or top/cap) paired with a chocolate-brown pickguard. It looked like a cherry bonbon in telecaster form.
  7. Back in the saddle again!👍🏽
  8. It was pretty darn good, and Mom REALLY liked it.
  9. I experimented and did a fusion of Hungarian Goulash and Hungarian Mushroom soup. Worked out pretty good! https://imgur.com/gallery/BqgHp6o
  10. Nice! Kinda reminds me of The Moody Blues, maybe infused with some Pink Floyd.
  11. In fact, my 8 year old iPad just died yesterday. Mom’s is having issues, as is Dad’s, though his is the most reliable. Currently looking at iPad Airs for replacements. Good thing we all updated our iPhones a few weeks ago! 🤦🏾‍♂️
  12. I went looking for more Hitsujibungaku stuff. One part grunge, one part pop, one part shoegaze- overall, very 1990s.👍🏽
  13. I’d love to own an actual 12-string, but right now, I emulate that sound using an EHX Epitome (which has a POG in it). But something like this would let me free up the Epitome for other stunts. Speaking of EHX…
