  1. I like my cp4, but not for the interface. I don’t understand how you can make a piano so complex.
  2. Was curious about the tuning. Great to hear it is stable!
  3. Yeah that is basically it. But they go in great lengths to achieve this. Some examples, they play all stuf with click tracks for Sgt pepper (because of the samples etc), but the recreated the complete click tracks by tapping along with the album to have the original variations in tempo. They also went to abbey roads to record strings and recreate the famous piano stab in " a day in the life". You can watch it in this documentary which I found really amusing.
  4. Really nice setup! how is the take 5 holding up live?
  5. Also really not my cup of tea, but a lot of people like it. I sometimes have a popular classical radio station on the background in my living room. They play common classical music, but sometimes also play Einaudi and the likes. They have a commercial about playing “the great composers like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Einaudi”….ehh I don’t think so. But to each their own. Can’t judge taste in music.
  6. So sad. He was a great rock drummer and seemed to be an really nice guy as well! Rip!
  7. I hear also a lot of stories of people who are complaining by the performance of the M1 pro max, when using it for audio (On vi-control and Logic pro help forums).
  8. I have a Mac mini 2020 i7 (so not M1), but with 32GB. I am personally waiting for a Mac mini M1 with more Ram, as I am starting to get into sample libraries. So sign my up for the Mac mini M1 64GB. (no idea if/when it comes though).
  9. I’m waiting for the 64gb M1 Mac mini to replace my i7 2020 32gb Mac mini.
  10. Yeah, I wished I kept my money in my pocket for that sound tower software. For one, it is not great. And second, when I start up my T5, first thing i do is initialize a patch and start from scratch and then record in my daw. Often i don’t even save the patch. It’s just made for programming a think.
  11. Thanks for all the work guys! Looks really great!
  12. I don"t think i ever saw someone doing a solo on a Mellotron. Cool!
  13. dB has them, or at least tried them. I saw in a FB post. He was really enthousiast about them i recall. He will chime in I bet.
  14. The studio sledge is the same engine as the Waldorf Blofeld, isn"t it?
  15. Very sad to hear this! A real helpful guy!
  16. Yeah, although I said mg06x (i like mine quite a bit), if you can spend the cash, Key Largo is the way to go.
  17. Thanks Jerry. I though it was your article, but wasn"t sure. It is the envelope modulating the pulse width which is the trick. I did it with an LFO and it didn"t sound right. Also tried modulating pitch with env (classic blip), also did"t sound right. Env to pulse width is the trick.
  18. I didn"t have time to go in depth but thus far I like it very much. The basic sound is really good to my ears. Maybe not at p5/p6 level, but more than enough for me. The modulation options with this makes this a perfect synth for me. It has far more modulation capabilities than my VA (Nord a1); can you imagine. Programming sounds from scratch is really easy. I think some of the effects are not stunning (I didn"t care for the chorus for instance). Did"t try them all yet. The reverb is really usable. I guess the effects are enough for a live situation.
  19. Sorry, that was an attempt of a joke, referring to the classic Nord thread.
  20. Yes, i also think it is a multimoog. I recall there was some kind of trick going on with pwm, or pitch modulation. I just can"t remember.
  21. Haha no not the secret Nord articles. I read them all. No explanation on how to recreate that sound. Steve did complain on the upper mids of the Nord Piano samples though!
  22. In my head there was a keyboard magazine article about recreating the Steve Winwood lead sound, but I can"t seem to find it. Yes it did bring my to the hilarious Nord thread, so I had a good laugh. But still curious to that article, if it even excise and I didn"t make it upâ¦
  23. To me it sounds like a pulse wave with some amount of drive/distortion/saturation on it. I can't imagine that is the basic tone of the pulse of the synthesizer (I could be wrong though:))
