    analog lab is basically all the v collection instruments with a dumbed down user interface. same sounds, minimal editing.

    i'm thinking keyboard with v-collection built in. what a tremendous success that would be! can't imagine it being too hard to run their vsts natively on an embedded hardware OS.

    NA "2" has a lot of nice enhancements, like filtering content by type, ie. kontakt libraries, expansions, synths, effects etc. and yes, you will need Kontakt 7 for the direct integration features with the controller.

    not an expert but I have one, and it was a battle for me too, although mine was a pre-prod prototype unit. these days it should "just work", plug and play the pretty graphics will show up even if you just use Kontakt, you don't need the KK wrapper any more. Use that if you want 3rd party plugins and NKS integration. Give it a try. but you MUST have the latest or very recent Kontakt version, and to get that you MUST have the latest Native Access installed. They released a major new version of NA and that needs to be downloaded and installed manually. good luck!

    claudio is a fantastic musician and a hugely respectful and humble guy, there is no way he is going to break anything and unfair to compare him with a 200lb dog. yes, he has adopted an enthusiastic demeanor on his videos which has proved to be incredibly successful. 750k subscribers can't all be wrong. I can think of only one music tech channel that is bigger.

    tony monaco without a doubt is the best. his school gives you access to his group class recordings, with two new long videos added every week and literally hundreds of lessons in the archive. lessons cover blues, jazz, pop and funk. you can try it free or for very small amount for 3 days so don't waste time here, what are you waiting for? the Joey lessons are good to, but not as helpful as Tony's format.

    Indeed, the mousewheel never works great in my experience for plugin control. for some synths the knob moves too much for each wheel increment, and for others it's painfully slow so you have to spin the mousewheel for ages just to get a small parameter change. and the software vendors of the plugins have yet to make that a preference setting. and let's be honest, rolling a mouse wheel is not the same satisfying experience as turning a quality knob. That's how we are used to editing synths, hence my original proposal for the Woody "Hover Knob" .

    because pointing, clicking and then dragging the mouse up and dow with wrist is fatiguing, inaccurate and tedious compared with pointing and turning a knob.

    you are probably right. but in my case, they have failed. I would have bought Msolo, but instead I will just continue to use my Electro.

    strange to read posts from people trying to justify to themselves that this can somehow be made into a decent dual manual organ rig. much better and more sensible options are available! basically every other clonewheel provides midi control for lower manual. what were hammond-suzuki thinking...?

    nobody doing virtuoso performance on device like this. users just banging in some beats into the sequencer. think of it as a welcome improvement over the grid of pads that you normally are stuck with on mpcs and grooveboxes that are useless for keyboard players. in other words, any action will do.

    ezdrummer is definitely a good shout for making backing tracks, but probably some messing around in DAW to get the fills in the right places. arranger keyboard is fine, but drums may get repetitive after a while, maybe not so many variations for the styles that you need and overkill if you are only using it for drums. i'd even consider band in a box, for many genres it is excellent, with recordings of real musicians so is the most authentic. can be a big challenging to get to grips with but results are very convincing.

    some very smart music theorists here, thank you for all the answers. actually the question came up simply because I wrote out the keys for the circle of fifths, just as a "cheat sheet" when practising. still none the wiser what to write in this situation after all this, i guess the answer is whatever I want, it doesn't matter.

    no, i think the others are right. most expensive vst ever. $5000 for the plugin bur you do get a free M8X.

    just a matter of time before it becomes available to general public. makes no sense to invest in developing a product just to give away for free to a tiny subset of the market. as pointed out, owners of hardware are the least interested in the software. expect "omnisphere league" pricing or even subscription.

    It's clear in my mind that the sharp keys are G D A E B and the flat keys are F Bb Eb Ab Db You wouldn't normally call a tune in D#, of A#, right? You would say Eb or Bb...? No one in the right mind would call B key sigature as Cb. But if you continue around the circle you reach key signature of F# / Gb. Both seem equally viable and commonly used (and terrifying...) I've kinda noticed that jazzers would say Gb and classical players F#... maybe? when and why would you call one over the other?

    confused, do any of these`new models get the casio/bechstein action, or are these all using the slim actions?
