Ted.....I'm the kind of lyricist whose writing reminds you of Dennis Hopper ranting while under the influence of Dexedrine. Off the wall observations, making connections at times only a mind traveler could comprehend, and BR549-like storylines. It's not exactly Carlinesque, but it's definitely country bohemian stuff. Gimme a holler, and I'll send you some scribbles.
Down like a dollar comin up against a yen, doin pretty good for the shape I'm in

Generally when I write a lyric I write the music also.

Never tried writing from just a lyricist stance.

Might be interesting... hehe might be disastrous... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif

I have tried twice thru the times to write with a lyricist

who basically had no musical knowledge and both would get

extremely uptight when their lyrical structures had to be changed

to work with simple musical concepts such has... timing http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif.

Swore I'd never get in that position again.

So I suppose wearing a lyricist hat with the basics of music

theory under my belt might be a positive in respect to a

successful outcome.

It's funny, I have actually used Rocket as a lyric collaboration tool - basically a bunch of us went into a session, laid down our tune then discussed some lyrics..

just a thought.

Tedster,

3500 posts and you can't come up with some words?? Something's not right here. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif

I am a notorius anti-collaborator (i.e. loner control freak) but I will volunteer my services just for you, if you are interested, because you are da man. Please email me at your convenience to discuss.
