Jeff Andrews with Michael Brecker and Stern

Stern burns and Jeff matches his intensity all the way (witha pronounced Jaco influence but a great groove! Adam Nussbaum is a fine drummer; Joey Caldarazzo rocks out on synth . . . and the there's Mr Brecker.

The odd good thing did happen in the 80s!

Jeff is such a great player. Check out his performance in this vid -

1966- great version of Footprints to compare - see how much it has stretched!

Miles plays Tutu with Marcus Miller on bass and Foley on piccolo (sp?) bass. Also Ricky Wellman, Don Alias  and Kenny Garret. Sanborn also solos - not sure who the keyboard player is - one great band! - This is one great clip! :D

Linley Marthe grooving his socks off with The Zawinul Syndicate (and somehow singing bv's too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IQGCAVHKLs&NR

Great close-ups of Linley playing, too.

Incredibly he goes into an even more intense groove at about 4m30s

Linley rocks/funks out - solo

Wow! :freak::freak::eek::love:

But then here's Richard Bona in playful mood!

Arhur Maia from Brazil

His father Luizao practically reinvented Brazilian bass and Arthur is continuing the family groove business.

Michel Alibo!

- and with the band French Jazz-Rock band Sixun

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfEGF5Abgk8 with pink bass and the great Paco Sery on drums!

If you like the sound of Sixun - this is a great one (with Alibo and Sery again) and vocalists sounding very Zawinul inspired.

I like how despite loving to slap, Michel holds it back at time and just sneaks in the odd pop and slap fill as appropriate.

This clip is from their DVD 20 ans - Live à La Cigale - which is worth getting: available quite cheaply if you live in Europe/UK.

This may already be posted here.

D'angelo, Pino, ?uestlove. "Chicken Grease" on the Chris Rock show.

John Mayer says about Pino's playing that he proves just how late you can show up for the party and still be right on time.

My whole trick is to keep the tune well out in front. If I play Tchaikovsky, I play his melodies and skip his spiritual struggle. ~Liberace

Not a bass clip. I saw this on the guitar player forum and thought it was extremely cool. The eighties meets today.
