  1. Has a Cream vibe and that can't be bad...
  2. My new jazz gospel project. From a recent live gig. The concert tells the history of jazz in America making links with the Bible and black experience and raises money for an anti-slavery charity. It's my Wal through the PA.
  3. Thanks Jeremy. That means a lot from you. Yes, I loved the tuba like sound the Wal got. That gig was at a great London jazz club that I've wanted to play at for years. Ironic that when I finally did it was playing Klezmer and Mediterranean music rather than jazz!
  4. Bit of live klezmer for you! [video:youtube]Woot! This has turned up! A recording of a klezmer song
  5. I made a video of the Footprints audio using some decent photos. Does this work? [video:youtube]
  6. Thanks David, really appreciate your comments. I am glad I was able to be more restrained than sometimes in Footprints, it developed the better for it. The Squier is sounding great with the TI jazz flats
  7. OK, Footprints from my last trio gig - I'm playing Davo's fretted Squier jazz though the AI head and Epifai cab. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6496274/Footprints.mp3 and Softly as in a Morning Sunrise https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6496274/Softly.mp3
  8. Can I use that one? Excellent!
  9. Tasty! I know Brad and I heard Katisse play a lot - great players. There's a lovely 70s movie influenced atmosphere. Thanks for posting!
  10. That totally tells the story! One of the chipmunks seems an enormous bass voiced guy though.
  11. 34 hours in and I finally get a solo! Yes I love playing that song, such a great song. Thanks lug!
  12. Chad, that grooves...bass could be louder. Eric, that was fun - especially the ascending arpeggios in the chorus. I think the spacey effects would sound better if they were even more dramatic. Loved the ending. No, I wouldn't have got it before the vocals came in. Did everyone miss my post a few posts up?
  13. Grown my nails longer (normally they're super short) and am enjoying the extra bite in the tone. They're not super long but it makes a huge difference. Didn't I do a thread about nails once? Also, after enjoying Serena Williams' tennis yesterday I was watching an interview where she said she played guitar and played well - now - that would be something to see!
  14. Some live recordings from my jazz group. A duo with a saxophonist (the first time we had played together) My trio http://soundcloud.com/philwbass/phil-wain-trio-la-fiesta
  15. Pretty dark video but you get the idea. My friend who was filming stopped during the bass photo to replace the batteries as they died. So you'll never know how great that solo was (or not! ) This is an Aphex Twin tune redone in an acoustic(ish) context [video:youtube]
  16. Well, I for one read back over the previous commments. Will have a listen when I get home David!
  17. 0:56 the descending lick sounds very 'Doug'
  18. I'm actually unfamiliar with Doug Rauch. Maybe we both stole from the same place! lol Haha! Maybe! Wow you should check out Doug - double thumbing on bass in the early 70s. I wrote this article on him: http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2010/04/09/what-doug-did-a-retrospective-on-doug-rauch/
