Phil W
All Star Bootsy session http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEnsuEJAwu4 Bootsy 76 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKMR2Ho9smw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgrOD4PZzuY&mode=related&search= Bootsy solo! Ahhhh! The legendary Last Exit Bill Laswell on Fender VI, Peter Brotzman on tenor sax, Sonny Sharrock on guitar and Ronald Shannon Jackson on drums. - wild and wonderful sounds like a cross between a train crash and a dinosaur battle but very beautiful - I loved this band. http://philwbass.com
Phil W
Not a bass clip. I saw this on the guitar player forum and thought it was extremely cool. The eighties meets today. Yeah, some of those mash-up things are cool. They show them late at night on one of our freeview music video channels. http://philwbass.com
Phil W
Just a start before class, I have some more for you all. Jonathan I liked the rhythm - very intense. I turned off when the vocal started though - it didn't seem to match up to the intnsity of the groove - maybe I should have given it more time! http://philwbass.com
Phil W
I had to learn Dream Theater tune to cover once. Man, that was enough listening for me. http://philwbass.com

Bottomgottem
Red Hot Chili Peppers playing live. Flea's a player. My whole trick is to keep the tune well out in front. If I play Tchaikovsky, I play his melodies and skip his spiritual struggle. ~Liberace
Phil W
Nice bass-playing. I don't know this song. Where is it from? Sound not great. I'm bumping this Bootsy unless anyone missed it . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgrOD4PZzuY&mode=related&search= http://philwbass.com
Bottomgottem
Sorry about that, Phil. One of the primary reasons I posted the "Brandy" link was because the mix sounded so good to me. "Brandy" was released in 1972 by the band Looking Glass. It was (and still is, I think) a pretty popular song in the U.S. It still gets radio play on some classic rock stations. My whole trick is to keep the tune well out in front. If I play Tchaikovsky, I play his melodies and skip his spiritual struggle. ~Liberace
Phil W
Cheers mate! Sorry, I was listening on a dodgy PC speaker (the vocals sounded kind of weird but the bass sounded good), I'll plug the cans in later and listen properly- it was probably my system! Nice tune! http://philwbass.com
yourlord
one of the songs our band covers: (lead guitarist's cover choice) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhzdKz7TJ2w&mode=related&search= The other 3 covers we play are: (My choice) Iron Maiden - To Tame A Land (Drummer's choice) Tool - Schism {My brother's , rhythm guitarist, choice) Iron Maiden - Prodigal Son I would have linked videos of the other songs but every video of the Maiden songs are garbage cover bands that launch an assault on your ears (some of them are fine musically but the singing is horrific) or some guy playing along with a CD player. Every copy of Schism was horrible to say the least and their video doesn't ever show the band members, just some abstract crap about a statue stuck in cement or something. Bottomgottem
More Flea. It appears to be from a Chad Smith instructional video.
