I've finished the woodwinds chapter and it's my favorite in the book so far. Now, we're starting to see how MIDI and orchestration tips in the same book can be helpful! :thu:

 

The chapter highlight I especially thought useful was Gilreath's characterizations of each instrument's qualities as it progresses through its range. Also anyone who hopes to write orchestrations for a real orchestra one day would do well to remember and avoid the break when writing for clarinets! :eek:

 

Has anyone read chapter four yet? What did you think of chapter three?
