Geoff Grace
I've finished the woodwinds chapter and it's my favorite in the book so far. Now, we're starting to see how MIDI and orchestration tips in the same book can be helpful! The chapter highlight I especially thought useful was Gilreath's characterizations of each instrument's qualities as it progresses through its range. Also anyone who hopes to write orchestrations for a real orchestra one day would do well to remember and avoid the break when writing for clarinets! Has anyone read chapter four yet? What did you think of chapter three? Best, Geoff Quote My Blue Someday appears on Apple Music | Spotify | YouTube | Amazon
