New Deep Purple song - Hammond front and centre

Recommended Posts

I've never been a very sentimental or nostalgic person, so I always like to look forward.

I may give this one a purchase anyway, but I get turned off when a band's new product gets commended for sounding like their old stuff.

I preferred "new" Asia to the resurrection of the "original" lineup (whatever that means, especially with deaths).

This also applies to almost all other groups that have gone back to original members and styles to regain audience, including Duran Duran.

Eugenio Upright, 60th Anniversary P-Bass, USA Geddy Lee J-Bass, Yamaha BBP35, D'angelico SS Bari, EXL1,

Select Strat, 70th Anniversary Esquire, LP 57, Eastman T486, T64, Ibanez PM2, Hammond XK4, Moog Voyager

I always found one Duran to be enough. When it's doubled I find that to be a bit too much Duran.

Anyways, the reformed Purple putting out new music kinda started with Perfect Strangers. I think that was the best. House of blue light, sort of a leftovers album by the sound of it. I liked The Battle Rages On after a few listens but really it could have been Ian Gillian singing for Gary Moore or anybody. It really didn't sound like Purple much. After that I lost interest and probably haven't heard anything released until this Portable Door (?) Stuff.

Except for being burnt out on highwaystar and smoke n d water, I can listen to the first album with Rod Evans up through strormbringer ans love it all. The Tommy Bolin stuff? Sorry, loved him on spectrum, didn't get into his Purple stuff.

Lay dowwwwn Stay downnnnn.

FunMachine.
