JMcS
This might be of interest here as well: Scott Hawthorn's website. It contains recordings of Jack McDuff and Richard "Groove" Holmes as well as tips for playing Jazz organ bass. https://www.organfreak.com/ Enjoy. Edit: It looks like the McDuff recordings are no longer available there.
JoJoB3
Yeah, these were from Tony Labrasca/BT Productions Hammondology series. It's fun seeing and hearing from a legend like this but there isn't a ton of advanced info here. This mainly because the topics and questions weren't planned well (there could be 5 days..maybe even weeks worth of info and stories here just on this man). It's also a Mr. McDuff in his later years. There's more in this series. Joey Defrancsco, Stan Spencer gospel hammond, Bill Heid blues on the hammond, and Chris Forman Funk on the hammond. I encoded the VHS tapes and uploaded them to my YT channel (currently set to private but I'd like to share em all. Not sure the ruling on that).
Synthaholic
The host reminded me of Rick Moranis doing an SCTV character. 2 Quote The fact there's a Highway To Hell and only a Stairway To Heaven says a lot about anticipated traffic numbers People only say "It's a free country" when they're doing something shitty-Demetri Martin
CEB
McDuff was always my favorite. Quote "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! So can a auto Mechanic." - Stokes Hunt
elif
I had the VHS of this, loaned it out years ago to another organ player. It's still out.😶

dazzjazz
IIRC, those LaBrasca tapes became ‘illegal’ when apparently the participants weren’t paid. They’ve been hard to come by ever since. please PM the private links! Quote www.dazzjazz.com PhD in Jazz Organ Improvisation. Dockeys
I’d love to see some of them too but totally understand if you didn’t want to share. They’re great resources all the same and nice to see stuff like this is still safeguarded to a certain extent for future generations. Quote Yamaha MODX8, Legend Live. JoJoB3
I'll try and look into it. We're seeing the Jack McDuff one here so perhaps it might be ok to share them.
Rustar
Here's something good. This is Matthew Kaminski, jazzer and organist for the Atlanta Braves. I took a lesson from him via Zoom recently, and it was a beneficial lesson. He's a cool guy, and I recommend him for anyone. https://www.matthewkaminski.com/ 1 Quote Yamaha P-515, Hammond SK1, Casio PX5s, Motif ES rack, Kawai MP5, Kawai ESS110, Yamaha S03, iPad, and a bunch of stuff in the closet. Stokely
That vid is WAY, way out of my area (not an organist) but it was super entertaining. He's hilarious!
MathOfInsects
I enjoyed that. I agree that unless you're really looking for fundamentals on bass playing, it's little light on educational content. But I miss that old generation of personalities, and was actually bummed to hear him talk about having "more time" these days to practice, when before the gigs were his practice. It's crazy that just when people are at their height of experience and ability we age them out of circulation. Ok, maybe I'm projecting here. What were we talking about? Quote Now out!
