I wanted a Novachord, too. Googled to see if there were any for sale...only to find that one had been sold, cheap(ish), right here in my home town, like, a year prior to my search and I had missed it, simply because I didn't know it existed.

Boy, was I pissed.

I'm not interested in someone's ability to program. I'm interested in their ability to compose and play.

About 15 years ago you could still occasionally find a Novachord on eBay for as little as $400. I found out several years ago that the movie theater I went to as a kid in Oregon had a Novachord. Somebody bought it and probably has restored it by now. One of my favorite TV shows in the 60s The Outer Limits used a Novachord for the soundtrack and theme music.

Novachord! Have you seen the inside of one? It makes the CS-80 look downright friendly. Its steampunk embodied. Now, it comes on a 2 x 8 inch chip in many synths.

Its a beautiful instrument, but I suspect it caused a few aneurysms in repair people. Its a blessedly unique mental illness to be a B-3, CS-80 or Novachord tech. You have little time left for anything else! Sonicouture offers one in software, which is the best place for such a behemoth. I can only imagine the alternating joy and horror of its players in its heyday.
