mate stubb Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 I've lusted after a Novachord since the first time I found out about them. 1 Quote Moe ---
AUSSIEKEYS Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Thanks for that . Big read I still own one of the ones pictured on there. I think page 4 or 5 Its a Univox All original and complete including the often missing knee bar. nice cosmetic condition for age but not working correctly Quote
GRollins Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I wanted a Novachord, too. Googled to see if there were any for sale...only to find that one had been sold, cheap(ish), right here in my home town, like, a year prior to my search and I had missed it, simply because I didn't know it existed. Boy, was I pissed. Grey Quote I'm not interested in someone's ability to program. I'm interested in their ability to compose and play.

Shamanzarek Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 About 15 years ago you could still occasionally find a Novachord on eBay for as little as $400. I found out several years ago that the movie theater I went to as a kid in Oregon had a Novachord. Somebody bought it and probably has restored it by now. One of my favorite TV shows in the 60s The Outer Limits used a Novachord for the soundtrack and theme music. David Emm Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Novachord! Have you seen the inside of one? It makes the CS-80 look downright friendly. Its steampunk embodied. Now, it comes on a 2 x 8 inch chip in many synths. Its a beautiful instrument, but I suspect it caused a few aneurysms in repair people. Its a blessedly unique mental illness to be a B-3, CS-80 or Novachord tech. You have little time left for anything else! Sonicouture offers one in software, which is the best place for such a behemoth. I can only imagine the alternating joy and horror of its players in its heyday. Quote "How long does it take?" jerrythek Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 That site was research gold for me when I wrote a 2-part history of synthesizers for Yamaha’s blog site earlier this year. Quote
