Nice!

It's probably been around 20 years ago but I walked into one of the bars we used to gig on New Years Day for a little hair of the dog.

Medeski, Martin and Wood were setting up to play. There were maybe 5 of us customers, MM&W told me I could just come in and listen without paying the cover.

I paid anyway.

Fantastic music, one of those happy "stumbled into that one" moments.

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

Very lucky indeed. It was IMO their best time, around Shackman and Combustication. I have seen them 5 or 6 times and I never have enough of them. Medeski is a style on his own

Be grateful for what you've got - a Nord, a laptop and two hands

Looks like a Mellotron too. Never saw anybody else play the capstan motor to fark up the pitch deliberately.

Yeah, I haven't seen that trick done on a Mellotron either. Patrick Warren used to do it on Chamberlin quite a bit back in the day, to great effect, but the flywheel placement makes it a little easier. I think this has been posted here before:
