Mighty Motif Max
A-100. Yamaha GX-1 Really don"t know which of you is closer. At that size, I am assuming that you"re either installing a mixing console or a really big vintage keyboard of some kind... Something like a big console organ. But my smart money is on a mixer. :-) Ding ding ding! We have a winner...sort of. I"ll take your less intelligent money here; fairly vintage 'big console organ' it is. The mystery item is... An Allen ADC-220 digital organ from 1986. A guy and his son drove seven and a half hours from Madison, WI to deliver it just to make their organist happy. All working, just serviced last year. And it was 100% free as they"re replacing it with a digital piano (a Clavinova). Not that the organist liked that; she insisted that it go where it would be used, It just so happened that I"ve been looking for a practice organ for four years but they always got away from me, or were too far away, or too expensive. The ad said 'we will deliver', but I didn"t seriously think they would deliver it up this far. They wouldn"t even let me pay for a night at a resort here for them. The guy insisted on driving 7.5 hours through the night to deliver it at 11 this morning, then had his son drive him back to Madison for his night shift at 11pm. Crazy. Great people, and a nice instrument at the right price. Best of all it has good tremulants so I"m not limited to church music in the sound palette; sounds good for theatre music too. And interestingly enough, I"ve found a setting that gets pretty close to a mellow '80s analog synth territory. And a headphone out. Oh Lord, he got a Frankensteinway (click for link).......................... Old No7 Lol...this one is a bit Frankenstein-like in one way Mentioned it"s a bit Frankenstein-like - when it was installed at the church (a little country church in a town of 800) they didn"t have funds for external speakers to fill the church. Since the organ had internal speakers, the dealer removed them from the organ and mounted them on a large board, enclosed the sides with 2x4s, and set it up behind the altar. So I"ve got this huge 5.5"x3.5" piece of wood with the internal speakers of my organ sitting in my house. I"m going to try and reinstall them into the organ.
