  1. I skimmed through the vid waiting for them to fire up the Van de Graaff generator, but they never did. I want my money back ;(
  2. Looks more like Keith Emerson in profile...
  3. I can vouch for this. I was sitting at a bar in Memphis, TN when the guy next to me said apologetically, "Sorry guys, I'm about to get a bit British". The waitress showed up with plates stacked with white bread, fries and mounds of butter. He built up a sandwich as described above and ate about three of them. The next day I went to work and described this peculiar behavior (behaviour) to a co-worker - also a Brit - who recognized it right away. "Oh, a chip buttie!"
  4. What always amazed me was what a small percentage of the presets were of any use to me.
  5. What planet are you guys calling in from? It certainly sounds nice.😉
  6. This ^ sounds like the beginning of a training set for AI to learn
  7. Trying to find a video of a Pianet n that sounded as bad as mine did, I ran across this This
  8. I think the "grungy" aspect smooths out some of the rough, harsh edges of the Hohner. I had one in the early '70s that I played through a Kustom (Tuck 'n Roll) bass amp, and it didn't sound anything like this one.
  9. Me neither. I've been playing Floyd Cramerisms forever and I can't remember ever feeling any discomfort whatsoever when doing so. I hope the OP will follow up and explain what hurts on his forefinger and what he thinks the cause is.
  10. Pretty impressive technically - particularly rhythmically - but just out of curiosity, what would you call this type of music? Progressive jazz/rock/funk fusion? Definitely not easy listening music...
  11. I actually kind of like this idea. Replacing MUZAK elevator music with ad hoc royalty free AI generated noises. Another related application would be background music for websites without having to deal with ASCAP or BMI
  12. Can you manually push that drawbar in when percussion is engaged and get the same effect as a workaround? (non-Nord guy question)
  13. South Bay (of LA) denizen here. We had moderate to heavy (for us) steady rain for three days, but no calamities. Saw some blue sky this morning. Woo Hoo!
  14. First impression: Sounds old fashioned Second impression: AI command "Create a pop ballad in the style of Billy Joel circa 1970-1990"
  15. I know several who are blatantly doing so.
  16. Doesn't look any rougher than this... And they sold pretty well
  17. Finally found one. This would have been around 1978 or so. Right hand: Elka Rhapsody on top of a Fender Rhodes Stage on jacked up legs Left hand: Roland Jupiter 4 on top of Hammond B3 through 147 Leslie
  18. I was about to say that in all my years of gigging, I had never experienced any real anti-keyboardism, but seeing this, I do recall a couple of soundmen with apparent anti-keyboard ears. I was in one band where the guitarist's wife would go over and pester the soundman to turn the keys up.
  19. Yes. I'm thinking of a momentary brake function rather than a steady stop mode.
  20. I remember reading decades ago that the brake function just switched in a diode across the motor leads. Is that how it's done?
