mate stubb
I hated the plastic sound of GAIA. I hope this is not the same repackaged tech, but knowing Roland... Moe ---
Dana.
I hated the plastic sound of GAIA. I hope this is not the same repackaged tech, but knowing Roland... The GAIA's presets suck, but you can get some good stuff out of it that sits well in a mix.
bluzeyone
Never played the GAIA but after scoping it I do see a resemblance..Hopefully it didn't just change clothes. mate stubb
I tweaked and tweaked on it in a Best Buy store one day, but couldn't bond with it. Couldn't judge about fitting into a mix. Their synths in the 80's all sounded amazing, from the flagship Jupiters down to the lowly Juno 1. I guess I feel like a jilted lover. I was such a Roland fanboy once. Tonysounds
Im with Mate on this. However, the FA has turned me into a fan once again. Of course, you guys realize this is part of their Rolands AIRA line, or whatever its called, for DJ Producer Types. But the 808 looks cool Hitting "Play" does NOT constitute live performance. -Me. Bridog6996
And the GAIA was just a re-packaged version of the SH-201. The 201 is like a Swiss Army knife. It doesn't do anything particularly well, but it's great when you need a general synth to cover all sorts of bases. The design of it, at least, is great: all knobs, no menus. AGree..even the 3P sounded decent. There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence...
