33°C here today, not a single cloud! This weekend? I have a gig on Sunday morning - Barbecue competition, I'll be eating some tasty food, drinking beer and playing some good ole rock&roll. Food in the stomach, money in the pocket - can't beat that. :)

Funny that all but one reply so far is from non-US posters, as the reason D-Bon started this thread is that Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer here. :) Is it around now for you guys as well?

Nope, we don't celebrate Memorial day :D I didn't know it was your unofficial summer start day, I just responded because it's friggin' 33°C outside, and that's not really a common temperature for May.

Non US people posted probably because we wake up >6h earlier than you in the US.

Well, he did post at 6:47 AM EDT....

Weather is terrible here right now. Never the less, still get some BBQ in. Other than that, Scotch, a rehearsal on Monday, Scotch. Does feel more like summer though as I have like 3 gigs in the span of 7 days, which is completely unheard of around here.

Good times!

Steinway L, Yamaha Motif XS-8, NE3 73, Casio PX-5S, iPad, EV ZLX 12-P ZZ(x2), bunch of PA stuff.

GF has to work; it's supposed to be rainy here all weekend. So I'll probably sit inside and eat a lot of McDonald's and dredge up some decade-old threads and change my screen name to Fatty.

Kidding. I'll be practicing and brushing up on some tunes. The last couple months have been very light on gigs for us, so we're a little rusty on some tunes; and we've got a few new ones we're working on.

I still may eat McDonalds, though.

Excuse me, but The Reds are in Cincinnati. ;)

Mowing, tennis and maybe some landscape work. Skipping the annual family reunion and keeping my mom at home this year. She is at that point that she cannot rember who is dead and who is alive. Don't want her asking all my counsing about their dead parents.

Excuse me too RAB, but I've never even heard of Cincinnati 'Reds' - who are they, & what do they do?

Manchester United are the biggest-supported team in existence... an estimated 400 million around the world.

Old Trafford (our stadium) only holds 77,000 - but if it were bigger, would get 3 or 4 times that number attending weekly.

How does that qualify you to say "The Reds" are from... eeerrrmm, where ? ? ? :D

In Montreal, many of us consider the start of summer to be when the Grand Prix hits town.

I, on the other hand, consider the start of summer the day classes end, or the week we get sunshine and +20-degree weather. (Celcius.)

Ahh, I get it - that's what we used to call 'rounders' in junior school...

the simplest of 'sports' to play... & one you get bored of very quickly !

... A bit like a bunch of no-hopers playing the recorder in the school 'band' ? :deadhorse:

Rehearsal with the Roots rock/Americana band this afternoon. Work all day tomorrow. All-day rehearsal with the Rush tribute band on Sunday, last rehearsal before our 2nd gig the following saturday, lots of new material for this one. Might go to the coast with the wife and dog on Monday. Supposed to rain all weekend :-(

Cincinnati Reds is not just a baseball team, it is the oldest professional baseball team.

& as far as we know in the UK, the most unheard of ! - by "oldest", do you mean they're all pensioners?

(only a joke, matey !) :)

I ski, so I prefer winter to summer. I'm wishing I lived in the Sierra Mountains or Rocky Mountains right now because they have had huge snowfall this year and it is still possible to ski. In the US East, however, it is getting warm and humid.

Yamaha P2 acoustic, Yamaha P120 digital, Nord Electro 3HP, QSC K10.

FOR SALE: Nord Electro 2-61.

We've got some friends who are getting ready to move back to San Diego after about 10 years in the DC area. Before they go, they wanted to make one last run to Philly for some cheesesteaks. So, we're hitting the road tomorrow with both families for a day/night in Philly with a lunch stop tomorrow (and perhaps a breakfast stop on Sunday as well) for Pat's and Geno's. :thu:
