Outkaster
Great my guitarist works there. I gig once in awhile at Funk and Waffles in downtown Syracuse. My nephew just graduated last year from there. Quote "Danny, ci manchi a tutti. La E-Street Band non e' la stessa senza di te. Steve C.
Outkaster, Have you heard of 2 Hour Delay (2HD)? Local band, whose lead singer/ guitarist Tim is also in our company band. And our company band once a year benefit gig is at the Landmark Theatre, June 9, if you're interested. Check out youtube for "Rocking The Redhouse 2016". We're "The Actuators". Actually first vid on the search is pic of Tim singing. I'm in there too, attempting to play keys. It was a great time! Well enough personal promo. Best, Steve Quote Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left.

Old No7
Gosh, I haven't heard that piano intro in decades... Using words others have mentioned on this 15 year old thread -- was it Dissonant? or Dissident? or Demented? I think the intro itself should have a name....... "Does Anybody Really Know What Time Signature It Is"? Outkaster
Very cool. It's such a strange intro. Quote "Danny, ci manchi a tutti. La E-Street Band non e' la stessa senza di te. Riposa in pace, fratello" noblevibes.com
JohnH
Have subbed in a Chicago Tribute since 2019, thankfully the band doesn't want the audience falling asleep so I haven't had to learn that. It's challenging enough getting the real intro down with those weird chords. The rapid part has never been an issue it's the chords playing behind the horns before it that are weird for me. harmonizer
To whoever did that transcription, that is an outstanding job (I say "to whoever" because the post is by user Mark Teboe, the youtube channel name says "richard leon"). I had earlier shared my transcription of just the first 25 seconds. It was incredibly difficult to pick the notes out from the recording, which is why I had stopped after just 25 seconds. Bravo! Tom Williams
Did Lamm actually play it the same way twice? I thought it was acknowledged as "free-form". I've seen a few YouTube concerts of Chicago and he played the intro differently. Quote FunMachine.
