These 'boards are total cheese!
Sorry to Casio and everyone else. Easy to see this is a marketing construction and aimed at creating the most $'s quickly. I am sure others will rave about it, but for me, nah, huge yawn and a turn-off. It's not even listed under the Casio premier keyboards section - and it has no expression pedal input, well at least, it is not mentioned in the VERY limited specs available at this stage. I can't find a pic of the rear either so might have to wait and see.
I am so glad that I am not the only one wondering WHY!
I was expecting something good but am totally disappointed.
I tried the S1000 and S3000 and the OS sucks, the features buried deep, the arranger features are cut down and limited and changing anything on the fly is impossible.
Tried a CTX5000 that lasted a weekend, rubbish OS that would not hold a user preset.
Now these, lets face it they are TOYS, I watched the release and after five minutes was bored out of my skull with Martin and Formidosi going on and on about and demonstrating the text to tone vocal processing that in practice it not worth anything.
Come on Casio get your act together.

Sick joke
I have had the Omicron virus, it is not fun.
Next time think before you post

For Coffee Shop playing do check out the Korg EK50 L.
2x10W onboard speakers.
The Casiotone is 2x2.5W so a total waste of time.

Announced minutes ago that mega album Bat Out Of Hell artist Meatloaf has passed at the age of 74.
Just breaking on the News channels.
No further details as yet

Your GLOBAL hit title limits certain hits like White Christmas, large sections of this planet are not Christian and hence this song will have no interest of any significant kind across most of the globe.
Just because something was a hit in the USA does not mean it was a hit globally.
St James Infirmary Infirmary is a great jazz classic but was/is it well known in India or Iran or Japan, hey it was not known of in Australia and my Grandkids have never heard of it.
The most well known and by association a hit has to be from marketing or an internet sensation, or something from a global event like Band Aid, crazy frog ringtone, the Macarena, Nesun Dorma, Gangnam Style.
If you want a Global response think outside the USA.
Think â¦â¦.. Happy Birthday to youâ¦.

To me the Global hit, in terms of views is probably.
A bit of genius Coca Cola marketing from 1971.
And Coke is everywhere, language no bar to getting the corporate message through to the masses.
Re-recorded so many times by local artists.

One thing to note about some of the suggestions is that the polyphony can be a bit low, ie the Yamaha EW310 is only 48 notes, Korg i3 only 64 and the Casio CDP S350 is also only 64 notes.
I will suggest you save up some more and look closely at a Casio PX S3100, 700 voices, slim and lightweight, battery powered, 192 note polyphony, arranger features, 200 styles, 2x8W built in amp.
In other words an all in one unit so no lugging around to much heavy weight kit.
An arranger specific keyboard with reasonable features and polyphony is way above your budget, and most well featured ones are only 61 keys and may not be battery powered.
The smallest lightest 61 key keyboard that runs on batteries that I know of is the Korg Kross 2 which at a bit over 8 lbs in weight is very, very portable.

Casio PX S1100 is currently c$675 US, I have played one (well the prior 1000) and the sounds were pretty good, keybed action of other makes you may find has more feel but its size and weight will take some beating. Piano sounds were good, almost as good as the Yamaha P125 , yep subjective, cannot comment on the current Roland FP30X but the prior model had the best action but the piano sound quality was between the Yamaha and the Casio.
I was watching and listening to some vids on the Casio CDP S350 today which was impressive for its $550 price tag so do check it out.

Great article.
Many thanks for posting it

If you can live with the GHS action nothing comes close to the Yamaha P121 with its 73 keys and light weight.
I had one for a couple of years and liked it.
Wanted extra sounds, no problem, plug in an IPad and you have whatever you want in a very lightweight package
Good luck deciding

Congrats and welcome to the Oldie Club.
Good choice of keys

It is 8 months since this thread started and so far nothing from Korg.
In some respects that is not surprising at all.
It is not as though the live music scene has got back to any resemblance of normality due to Covid, the stupidity of people in avoiding having the vaccines when offered and inept Governments in not focussing on getting the populace vaccinated.
It would be a big risk for any manufacturer to design and develop kit to release into a market where the very buyers and hence users of the kit have been very hard hit financially by the lack of gigs.
Where is the market for keyboards at present? Probably the newbies, home players and retirees!
Casio has the AIX tempter out at present but do any of you think that that will lead to a high end workstation ir synth? I do not!
Korg may well be concentrating on developing their Arrangers, they are designed in Italy so staff there need to be engaged in profitable activities and given Yamaha have released three models in recent years Korg are light years behind.
Lets see what the New Year brings

That raised a good laugh

Why not post your thread in the guitar section of this forum?

Probably the best in London is PMT in Clerkenwell.
Anderton"s are in Guildford about an hour or so outside the centre on London.
Bonners are another worth a visit and they have four stores, each have different instrument groups on show so do ring them first to get advice on which would suit you best. They to are located outside the centre of London.
As you research you will find a lot of guitar biased shops and far less keyboard orientated ones.
Additionally do head up to St John"s Wood to do the Abbey Road Walk.

You had to be alive and British in the Sixties to really appreciate the impact of The Beatles not just on music but on the whole tourism in Liverpool.
RnR was tailing off in popularity and what could only be described as Sweet Pop Pap was blazoned across our airwaves and on TV here in the UK.
I saw The Beatles the first time they appeared on our Regional TV (I live 40 miles from Liverpool) and almost instantly they changed British music forever and not just the music, the promotion.
Prior to them artists and groups were wage earners, paid by the promotors who earned all the cash. A concert was not just one band but multiple consisting of a headliner like Joe Brown supported by The Beatles, another band and two solo artists. Oh how times have changed.

Apparently Korg USA host the forum on a very old server.
The Independent Admin posted earlier that there were unsure of the issue that cause the downtime.

Vox Continental is being displayed on the Korg website in the Product Archives section.
As is the Grandstage.
Make of that what you will.

The Buzz Lightyear trailer is vastly superior to Blade Runner 2049.

Being from England, it's always great to see you Americans, saying this is a small, non-monster-truck!
Also guessing personally (as in just you and your keys rig?)
Standard van (for the whole band, instruments, PA, and lights for the club circuit) is a Mercedes Sprinter LWB.
In Arabia at the moment, though, where everyone has Land Cruisers, F150s, and Range Rovers.
They have room, though, as I guess you do! Not so in Merry England!
It"s always great to see those on the other side of the pond considering Mercedes as garden-variety vehicles. Here in the colonies, it"s a luxury brand!
A Mercedes is a Truck and Taxi maker to me.
I certainly do not class most of the Mercedes we have in the UK as luxury, most here are A and C class which means cheap and nasty interiors, mediocre seating and ride quality.
We do see the occasional Ford F150 on our roads and that seems like a Monster Truck.
My own car is a mid sized SUV of the same size as an Audi Q5 or BMW X3 both of which you have in the US of A and even that is a bit big for some of our country roads

The greatest band ever.

Shall we discuss the severance package?
