  1. This is incorrect. I have a Clarett 8Pre as well and use the ADAT interface with the Behringer ADA 8200 which indeed adds 8 channels to my interface, either Mic or Instrument. They show up seamlessly in the Focusrite software. Plus, all the connections are on the front panel which is super convenient. Works for me as I record everything at 48. -dj
  2. This is something I really don't understand. There are lots of bands in my area looking for keyboard players. When they send me a set list, almost none of the songs have keyboards, especially the 90s bands. -dj
  3. Just did a rehearsal, first time using the 18880 and 18881. I should have bought this a long time ago. Fits in my back seat, weighs less than 10 pounds. No case needed. Total setup + teardown time, less than 1 minute. Absolutely worth the 90 minutes I spent working on it. I actually might buy another. Best stand for transport EVER!! -dj
  4. I bought one of these systems in 2007 and it still works perfectly. The receiver runs on batteries, so you can velcro it anywhere. -dj
  5. I use very short cables for all the internal connection. I will even loop them if possible. I have a 3 space SKB rack and extra cable lengths can also be pushed along the top or sides of the rack- -dj
  6. I don't think it would be a shop project for you... because it looks to me like, with no modifications, it meets your specs EXCEPT for easily adjustable lower tier height, and I don't think THAT one can be fixed even with a shop project! And the wrong-size and difficult-to-adjust-without-a hacksaw second tier. Minor stuff like that. I use the same rig all the time, so I never have to adjust it, so I understand your frustration- -dj
  7. True, but these days, any quality stand like the On-Stage Z two tier, of the Standtastic are all $225 and up. I was amazed that keyboard stands had doubled in price since last I checked. I bought my last On Stage KS7365EJ last year for $120. This year it is $220! I fiigured for $60 more I could have exactly what I want and carry it with one finger, literally. I had to jury rig pretty much every stand I ever bought. For the Baby Spider I had to order an extra straight set of arms, remove the extension from them, remove the plastic top holding the mic attachment (because it flexed too much and was unusable), put together three other adapters to put in the internal frame to mount it. -dj
  8. I assume you mean you selected the appropriate tilt from the various positions available on the stacker. I mean, there was no hardware modification required for this, right? Correct, the second hole appears to be 10 degrees Yeah, I cut my 18882 shorter as well. I know, they have to accomodate longer boards, but for those of us using shallow boards, the excess length can just get in the way. At least aluminum cuts easily! I leave my 18881 full length, because I just flip it backwards anyway. Right, cutting and drilling holes in aluminum is much easier than steel. Again, the squared off rather than round support tiers make this kind of thing easier and more effective. Despite its shortcomings or ways it could be better, to me, it's still usually the best 2-tier option. The light weight, the flexibility, the stability, the move-in-one-piece design, all make it pretty unbeatable... and to the extent that you wish to make changes, mods aren't as prohibitive to make as they can often be on other stands. But yeah, they fall down in one area... the ability to easily vary the height of the bottom tier, it's too much of a project. Oh, and yeah, it's pricey here in the U.S. Most definitely agree. My old Baby Spider pro with all the jury rigged attachments weighs more than twice as much. -dj
  9. Thanks to all of the users here for the help in this "Another Stand Thread" and others as well. I bought the 18880 and 18881 and did the following: Adjusted the height (permanently, I always stand while playing) so that the actual keyboard is 35 1/2 inches high (I'm 5' 8") Drilled extra holes in the 18881 so it could be as close as possible to the 18880, added a small 10 degree tilt for comfort Cut three inches off the 18881 arms so that the top board does not cover the controls of the bottom board Hammered in the base part of the On Stage mic adapter (it was worn so it went in easily and will never come out) Added high quality weather stripping so that neither boards slip at all. Even without the crossbar the stand is very stable and does not move while playing Thanks again for all of the great information!
  10. The 18880 with the 18881 stacker is the lightest stand yet, and foldable. I never have to adjust the height. Setting it up the first time was a PIA, though- -dj
  11. There's no VAT when shipping to the U.S., and their shipping is reasonable, it would probably be about $40, give or take. OK good to know. I never got that far in the cart- -dj
  12. Holy forking shirtballs I just checked and it's literally half the price. I ordered one and it says it'll be here by Friday!?! Too good to be true? We'll see when I get the confirmation E-mail. No idea how they can somehow have these at half price but you just seemingly solved my problem for now, so thank you. Is that including shipping and VAT? I checked that too, and the advertised price was half as much as the US, but with shipping and VAT it was about the same- -dj
  13. Wow, now I can actually attach files directly from my computer, no need to specify a URL!! This is great- -dj
  14. Yeah, the Omega is good for studio, but not practical to move around. That is why I waited and got the 18880, it does fold flat, even with the 2nd tier attached and weighs less than 10 pounds- - -dj
  15. There are also no QSC K.2 powered speakers or parts to repair them. I had a K8.2 amp fail and the authorized service center told me that it would be April before they had the amp module from QSC- -dj
  16. But you can't adjust the height!!! Total dealbreaker for me. I need to play this thing standing and boards have dramatically varying depths. You can adjust the height of the K&M 18880, from roughly 24" to 37". However, it is a pain. It's fine if you're going to do it once and leave it at your preferred height, but it's not something you'd want to do frequently. The stacker has a variety of heights as well, and is a lot easier to change. Though I do wish that it offered lower settings than it does, for getting boards closer to each other (depending on the height of the lower board). I have one set that was modified to go extra low. Leaving it at one preferred height isn't so bad, unless maybe you switch between standing gigs and sitting gigs. After all, you're the same height at every gig. ;-) But I am missing the issue here of boards having dramatically varying depths...? I did what many others have done and drilled a new set of holes. The second tier is now 6.5 inches (including the thickness of the tier itself) above the first tier with no tilt. I also cut 3 inches from the upper tier arms so that I have clear view of the bottom board. Nord Wave 2 on top, Stage 3 73 on the bottom. -dj
  17. I have had a Baby Spider Pro for 9 years, which has been great. I just bought the K&M 18880 and 18881 stacker along with the On-Stage mic attachment. Once assemble and adjusted, I should be able to just fold it flat without having to remove any parts. Total weight is less than 10 pounds. That will be my new gigging stand- -dj
  18. I never saw blue envelopes in Dark mode on my PC, but topics with posts I have not read were white text bolded. That appears to no longer be the case. Using Chrome on Win 10- -dj
  19. I just removed the extensions from the upper tier arms, slide up the second sleeve and remove them and stick them in the bag when I break it down. -dj
  20. I posted a while back about this not being an HTTPS site, and Jim responded at that time. This upgrade will make the site much more secure.. Thanks guys! -dj
  21. Thanks, Mike- I sent them an email- -dj
  22. Hey, can you tell me the size of the rectangular tubing on the second tier of this stand? I want to know if it could fit this mic attachment. It needs to be1 inch wide: https://www.amazon.com/KSA7575-Universal-Keyboard-Microphone-Attachment/dp/B0010GNU9Q/ref=pd_ybh_a_36?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=AY9B033SB89KNZE18ED7&th=1 Thanks! -dj
  23. I saw DS when he was with Springsteen at Max's Kansas City in New York after the release of The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle. I think there may have been 50 people there. They had a beat up old upright piano with the front removed and he used a guitar pick and strummed the strings like an autoharp for the beginning of New York City Serenade. It was beautiful- -dj
