  1. I"m liking the 1955 tone wheel set with the 147 pre and cab. I"m getting satisfactory distortion with that set-up.
  2. I have B3X for iPad and an original Vent and believe the app is the winner.
  3. I just got the iOS app as a gift and love the sound. I"m running on a 2016 iPad Pro and feel very comfortable using on a session along with the Ravenscroft iOS app for piano. Highly recommended! I maintain that $100 is little to pay with consideration to price vs. quality of KORG micro piano and Voce rack-mount I tortured audience members with in the 90s. Back then, $1700 for a rack (Triton, XV) that couldn"t produce a usable organ. This is money well-spent. And yes, fly dates with an iPad and interface...easy...amazing!
  4. I don"t envy you here and recommend renting a rig instead of flying them. This is when a laptop comes in super handy, but I digress. It is difficult to count on back line sometimes, SIR is an exemption. However, the boards you mention may not be readily available and a call to the rental company may answer all your questions. Take your pedals for sure! Good luck.
  5. Love this. If I"m not mistaken, drum track for Sledgehammer was one take. That record is a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing link!
  6. Thanks, Dave. Having been the youngest member of a very famous band, I can relate! Thumbs up!!
  7. Intro on original is played using a guitar pick moving up white keys.
  8. There is no NIN or Depeche Mode (and 1000s of others) without Kraftwerk.
  9. I only got the stereo version. I heard interview with Giles and wish I had a 5.1 system. Pretty great, huh?
  10. I think everyone can relate to what you are going through: a bad gig can ruin sleep while you replay the tape over and over! Bad gigs are just that, one gig! There are no do overs and I"ll bet you are thinking about it more than others. I agree with the others, play another gig! If you believe the intro is not quite under your fingers, practice. If it is well-known and a one time event, no big deal. We don"t carry malpractice insurance for a reason. I have seen Grammy-award winning artists do the same. Hell, I witnessed Steely Dan train-wreck an intro and stop a tune cold once. I saw Peter Gabriel lose his place during Solsbury Hill...you are in great company. It feels like crap, and this too shall pass. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum.
  11. Latest for me is the CP88, Roland D-05, and IK B3-X.
  12. I was not whistling Dixie folks.
  13. Rock and pop for a living. Sounds great doing Jimmy Smith though, the perc and c/v sound particularly good.
  14. I bought it this evening. Thanks for the heads up on the cross grade. This is a winner. I have VB3 and B5 and this retires both.
  15. I think I could have waited to buy the Leslie collection (unresponsive to CC in Digital Performer) two weeks ago.
  16. Ditto Timejumpers. Must rely on ride-share to go anywhere or do anything. Luckily, you can waste oodles of time at the mall next door. Otherwise, you are no where close to anything worth while.
  17. Great running, Dave. I started a couple of years ago and have worn through a pair of NB 880s. I bought a pair of Hokas yesterday and hope to break in this week. I envy your schedule, or anyone"s schedule that doesn"t revolve around a young child.
  18. Just got mine yesterday. Best feeling keyboard I"ve owned. Last one I had that was close was RD700NX and this is an improvement by a long shot.
  19. My point is kids sometimes have a second phone (iPhone even!) of which parents are not aware. More likely to happen in high school.
