  1. I know in the past, you"d see a lot of users flipping the video image to try to get around copyright. Or sometimes they"d speed-adjust the audio for the same reason. Or maybe they"re recording with their phone using the front-facing camera. My wife had a phone that took selfies that were flipped.
  2. Can we at least blame Joe for all the broken links?
  3. Just checking out the Nautilus Voice Name List online, page 287 lists all the SFX-2 pianos there, with a sidebar: "When the instrument is shipped from the factory, these pianos do not sound. The optional NAUTILUS Sound Library is required that will be onsale in the future." This is how the Kronos Shop operates, where you can pick and choose which expansions you want â at least that's their spin on it. No doubt you'll see that site breakout on various channels, including here. Be prepared to fork over some big bucks. Berlin Piano was $250 but far better than the stock German on my Kronos. I also bought Busch's EP packs â very reasonable and worth it â and easy to customize. D"oh I looked at that, or so I thought. (I have had limited time to mess with this board - full time + job, 2 kids, etc). Late nights + dad brain = didn"t register. Thanks for the info. I did read about Busch"s piano (Clear Piano, I think) in an old thread where Moonglow mentioned his frustration with Kronos mono pianos. Might try that, as soon as I"m sure they can properly load in the Nautilus. I need to message Busch on that.
  4. See, that"s how they get 'ya. You gotta buy the stylus, too. Kidding. I"ll order one and try it out.
  5. I got my Nautilus 88 last Saturday. After wanting a Kronos for 10 years, I thought this would be the perfect board for me - all of the Kronos guts that I want, and the things that are missing are things I wouldn"t necessarily use. My first thing was to find a good mono piano. The German mono seems to work pretty good, after changing the model from German Light to German Full, and adjusting the global velocity setting from 4 to 5, and maybe a slight tweak to the mids in the parametric EQ in the IFX. However, I have yet to use it in a full rehearsal or a gig. I know the piano sound that I programmed on my Triton (K-sounds Kawai 2 layered with a mono piano on an ancient Yamaha P50m) can sound like poo solo, but works well live. So, we"ll see how the German Mono works when I get it in a live mix. The touch screen seems to be finicky, and I"m not fat-fingered. Calibration seems to help some, but with as small and close together as some of the 'buttons' on the screen are, it can be a challenge to tap the right one - and sometimes when tapping the wrong one, it will adjust that setting without trying to, and then you don"t know what the original setting was. Somewhat irritating. Also, general operation of the screen seems to be sluggish, whether tapping buttons, or scrolling through sounds with the wheel. I like that it"s smaller and lighter than the Triton Studio. A couple things that I might miss, however, are the ribbon controller and the physical numeric buttons. But, like most things, I will get used to it. I have no idea when Korg will release the remaining piano samples. (Japanese, Berlin, Austrian) Do you Kronos owners know how that works? Are they included in future updates, or are they something that you have to purchase? Edit⦠the RH3 action seems just slightly heavier than the RH2 of the Triton Studio; could be due to use, however, my Triton, as old as it is, has seen relatively light use for a nearly 20-year-old unit.
  6. Well, I ordered it tonight. This will replace my trusty old Triton Studio 88. Thanks, David for your review.
  7. Do you have a link to that YT video? Didn"t see one when I searched.
  8. Thanks for the responses, guys. Fired up my rig this past weekend for the first time in a while. Before I did that, though, I pulled the Mini Vent out of the rack and played my C2 through it (currently have no Leslie). Even in mono, the C2 + Vent sounds freakin" amazing. Then put the Vent back in the rack and played VB3-II through it. As much as I want to stop using a laptop, I think I"ll stick with my setup for now. VB3-II + Vent just sounds too damn good.
  9. Upvote??? This ain"t Reddit! Seriously, though - that"s cool. If my old dual-driver Shure buds ever die, I"d consider the Westones.
  10. I"ve been out of the scene for about 7 years, and along with that, have fallen out of the loop on current gear. There is a possibility of getting back to playing live later this year. I still have my trusty Triton Studio 88 and Triton Le 61. Along with internal sounds, I use the Le to trigger VB3-II which runs on an ancient but seemingly immortal cheap laptop with Windows 7, with a Presonus Audiobox and cheap 9-slider 'drawbar' controller. VB3-II runs through a Mini Vent. If I had money to spend (my wife and I disagree on that ð) I would consider a Kronos 61 to replace the old Le, so I could use the CX3 engine and be able to get rid of the laptop and slider unit. I would probably keep the Mini Vent for Leslie sim. My question - I"ve seen one or two vids of the Kronos CX3 running through a Vent, and it sounds pretty good. Also have searched for forum posts, but didn"t see anything in the last few years regarding this. How recently has the CX3 engine in the Kronos been updated? Anyone currently running that setup? I"ve read that the percussion, C/V, and shrillness were issues. How is it currently, in your opinion? Thanks.
  11. Take a drink whenever someone is selling a 'saxophone' instead of a 'saxaphone'. Or an 'accordion' and not an 'accordian'.
  12. 'In lieu of flowers, Reed's family requested that fans, friends and others donate in his name to Detroit Symphony's Detroit Harmony Fund, which aims to place an instrument in the hands of every student in his hometown. They also encouraged people to regularly screen for colon cancer and learn about other preventative methods.'
  13. Maybe they"re going back to their roots...I bet it"s a clock.
  14. Saw the current version of Fleetwood Mac a couple years ago. I was pleasantly surprised when they played this.
  15. Most of the music I own was purchased between about age 16 and 32 (1996 to 2012; CD"s, downloads, and vinyl) Got married in 2013 and had kids in 2015 and 2017, so as posted above, priorities in life change. Although I still try to actively seek out 'new' music (both new and new to me), I struggle more and more as time goes on to find something that really grabs me, but I get lucky once in a while. I like streaming Radio Paradise, and if I hear something I really like, chances are, I"ll buy it. I check out new releases every Friday on the Apple Music store, but these days, I rarely find something that I like enough to buy. I also belong to a vinyl records FB page that has inspired me to purchase something that I"ve never heard or heard of. I never want to be of the mind that 'all new music sucks, and only older stuff is good', so I try to keep current and keep my mind open. With that being said... I"m about to put my kids down for naps, and then hit the computer to see what"s new today. Merry Christmas, y"all!
  16. I would render out the highest quality you can from Power Director, and then use Handbrake to make your MP4. Handbrake is free, BTW. Any questions, feel free to PM me.
  17. I never realized how much I touched my face until being told I"m not supposed to touch my face. Anyway, wishing you all the best, Tim.
  18. Several years ago when I was looking for a "drawbar" controller for VB3, I couldn't find an original NanoKontrol, so I grabbed a NanoKontrol 2 from GC. They got rid of the 9th slider on version 2 (because... reasons?) Also, IIRC, I couldn't get one of the sliders to map to VB3, and I couldn't get one of the buttons to be 'toggle' instead of 'momentary'.
