  1. … and he is almost completely deaf.
  2. I still cannot figure out how to assign effects to the stupid superknob. In fact, the bling effect of the pulsating superknob was the very first thing I turned off when I bought the MODX+.
  3. Agreed! Lee was an amazing performer. Saw him and Frosty in the early 70’s at the Hollywood (Fl) Sportatorium. I will never forget the wall of acoustic amps behind the two of them. When he hit that high C at the beginning of stormy Monday my ears distorted from the volume. He drove me and my friend from the arena and we listened to him in the parking lot (believe me, he was plenty loud even out there). Still a great show.
  4. That’s what my organ tech, Bill Axman, does.
  5. The Rick Beato thread went south due to a few very negative insensitive posts. Grey, and me included, among others, felt that the negatively went too far. Dave stepped in and wisely moved the whole topic to the SSS forum. I am willing to let it all cool down, but according to hid posts in this thread, Grey had seen enough. I was absent from KK for an extended period of time and did not witness the history that he mentions. I just hope that everyone can just pause and think a little before they submit negative posts. I am willing to give our members a chance.
  6. Grey… Please don’t go. We need sanity and kindness in this world.
  7. Sounds like a good landing spot for this thread.
  8. Love Audacity. Been using it for my podcast for years. I had no idea how powerful it is!
  9. If you think that it is just the fellating comment, then I guess the ageist and racist “gray haired old white boomer”, along with the numerous other mean-spirited comments posted from people who have never even met Beato, sail over your head.
  10. As long as people make excuses for bad behavior, then the bad behavior will continue. There is NO EXCUSE for being offensive, obscene, or ageist. The poster(s) I am referring to posted such remarks, and it should not be tolerated. Hiding behind “freedom of speech” is a lazy argument for tolerating mean and insensitive comments. Many years ago I was called out for being “too political”, and I curbed that behavior as it was against forum rules. I am curious why it seems that hateful speech is tolerated here. And is being defended by several forum members. Maybe this is OK now that we live in such a society of declining morals. Well, its not OK with me.
  11. OK… Now I have to respond. I totally agree with GRollins. If forum members cannot police themselves to hold back their dark, hateful, and insulting comments, like the ones repeated above, then I hope that the moderator takes some action to police the actions on this forum. Personally, I am surprised that he has allowed this to continue for this long.
  12. Frankly, I am bored with this thread. ‘’Hey! Have you heard about the new B******* keyboard?
  13. no doubt performed by The Wrecking Crew.
  14. Agreed. But lazy musicians now will be able to compose and “produce like a pro” through AI. Technology is catering to the lowest common denominator. You no longer have to know how to draw to produce “fine art”. This is happening in all the arts, by the way.
  15. Have you ever considered that Beato's core audience are musicians with more than an elementary level understanding of music? Maybe Rick should have a disclaimer before his videos that states: "Warning: This lesson is not meant for students who have a limited knowledge of music theory". I think that many of our colleagues are looking for a solution for every level. That is as realistic as having a classroom filled with students of all ages and experiences. Over my three+ decades of teaching at universities, I can assure you that I teach my graduate classes using different material, with different student level expectations, than what I teach in my undergraduate classes.
  16. I guess this is what MathofInsects calls “Appreciative but not adoring" commentary…
  17. I have been doing this for decades. Buy TurboTax Home and Business (I have two sole proprietorships). Keep good records, and deduct everything that you are entitled to under the law, including part of your video/cable expenses. As a live stage designer and musician a portion of almost everything i see and hear is research. Same for going to concerts, clubs, etc. Don’t be greedy, pay your fair share of taxes (we are Americans, after all) and follow the law. Its not that big of a deal.
  18. I had the honor of designing the lighting for the world premiere of his opera, “The Invention of Morel” in Chicago and LA about six years ago. I was also blessed to work with him for two years prior to that planning out the show. What a lot of fun he is. Lots of great stories. Here is the creative team for the show. I am in the center.
  19. I really do not wish to go into details about this technology. Let's just say that it takes VERY little effort for the user to create the "Perfect AI Girlfriend". In fact, many psychologists are saying that this technology will seriously affect young men and women's abilities to have meaningful relationships with real people. Enough said... back to Beato.
  20. We had Playboy, they have “AI Girlfriend”… So much for developing your creative imagination.
  21. That’s correct. AI is changing everything. Including how we make music.
