  1. Wow, I figured I would add this audio YT I just was gifted from YT algorithm to my thread. Chick's solo around 6:30, although if you're a fan listen to it all. Chick from 1972 on Rhodes from the Light as a Feather period. Love it.
  2. My secret - not peaking to early.
  3. I clicked on this for Jimmy Smith and Cannonball. I wasn't expecting to see George Duke (I know he played with Cannonball, didn't realize how early he'd been playing with him, anyway.) Since there was a Rhodes thread I thought people might find this new to them. I always love hearing new George Duke on Rhodes. 11:30 and 19:20 for his solos.
  4. I've been digging them after watching Adam and Peter on Open studio discuss them in series. This is the first time I heard them play a cover - cool beans.
  5. OK, let's talk NFL... sorry can't let's talk movies....sorry can't SNL....sorry can't politics....sorry can't very rich musicians.....sorry can't ESPN.....sorry can't vocalists who perform in swimwear....sorry can't
  6. I'm impressed with the ingenuity of posters and the restraint keeping this thread non-political.
  7. How about, probably not feasible, for manufacturers to design an additional lid, which would replace, or sit on top, that would be able to support a 2nd board, or computer, etc. I guess Korg and Kawai and other co's. I just like the idea that I could play two keyboards without carrying heavy scaffolding. I know ppl will say Rhodes and similar, but I'm thinking light dp's like Nord and Yamaha offered extra mods.
  8. Feta, spinach, red onion, tomatoes egg omelette.
  9. I'm probably more into being immersed visually, so pipped in music might be all that needed. Although, at most stadium performances the band is also far away, so seeing a band there has got to be better than a large stadium. Obviously, small venues is the gold standard. My latest dream thought is to see Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Center in the sphere. (I did see him live performing that album with symphony in Boston.)
  10. Sure, i agree and a tribute band would be cool. I'm just imaging the graphics of say Close to the Edge, etc. Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, Santana are bands of my youth but the possibilities of that backdrop would be so sick.
  11. Seeing some videos of U2 at Sphere was making me think of all the great bands and acts that could of been and will be there.
  12. Giant pet peeve of mine. true story: I got yelled at from police officer for not merging earlier.
  13. You might be right as I grew up with him starting in early 70's. IMHO, younger ppl see he is not playing a Rhodes, but his music, I hope is being listened to by those same ppl. BTW, I never dissed Dan Goldman as my comment wasn't about the music per say. I was conjuring up what the best promotion would be to promote the new Rhodes. Dan is killing it but when I see the name Rhodes, I hear Herbie (and Chick, and Zawinul, etc.) I guess life experiences is time based. All the best to Dan Goldman and new music; I'm stuck in Hard Bop most of the time.
  14. I don't post shit without a reason. It was Herbie's flexible demo of Fender Rhodes back in 1973 that was instrumental in me wanting to get a Rhodes. Not to mention a couple of great albums he had featuring the Rhodes. He also would be a click monster considering his fame around the world. He also happens to love engineering and could explain the crap out of all the functionality of effects and could emphasize how having them all in a tidy package makes it the ultimate Rhodes. BTW, thanks for calling me Pretty.
  15. They should just gotten Herbie (no disrespect for Dan Goldman.)
  16. I googled song to find out more about what the song was about. CC states he was on Acid when he wrote it. So, it's probably best to be in that state to listen today.
  17. I haven't read all of this thread but the title reminded me of a story I read recently about Jeff Beck didn't like playing too loud. Here's the article. (sorry if has already been posted.) https://www.guitarplayer.com/players/jeff-beck-emotion-and-commotion-2010
  18. Increased comfort food level when served at real diner with french fries. (This was the one I visited in my youth.)
  19. A window into virtuosity of musicianship for his quartet. Peter Martin recorded live album on YT. Pretty cool.
  20. I hear a voice, a man's voice, but he speaks in German so I have to get a translator.
