  1. I actually put a dime on the top and middle hole and drill between the two holes for the volume pot. See picture of my Agile strat clone below
  2. I could get the same sized and type steak dinner here at the Longhorn for $15.99, or even a Filet Mignon for $24.99. The highest prices steak at the local Longhorn here in Arizona is $34.99. And the one at the Solana Beach Fish Market I talked about above was the cheapest one on their menu.
  3. Got a motel room one city block (5 minute walk) to the beach. My sister in law is a travel agent and she got us a several hundred dollars a night room for seventy bucks a night. Of course it was a radical change from the 110*F heat here in the desert. Anyways the gals did swims in the ocean both days. I did stick my feet in on day one. But never got around to getting in a bathing suit and jumping in. The waves were 2 feet and sloppy, and there were at least 4 people vying for waves in each breaking area (beach break with a few shelves here and there). It was over a hundred fifty steps down to the beach and then back up to street level which was some good leg exercise. I was basically the driver to and from wherever we went including back and forth to the Sonoran desert. Traffic was relatively light wherever we went. I spent a lot of time in North County (San Diego County) back in the late 70's and early 80's. I did always have a wet-suit and surf board with me back when I was a regular in the 70's/80's, however I would not have paddled out in that slop and have to fight the youngsters for a 3 second ride. However it was nice to smell the salt air and we walked for miles on the beach back and forth. We did go to one restaurant there, but they wanted 45 bucks for a small steak or fish dinner, I passed on that and got a salad, and some french fries. Truth be told I was super happy to see the welcome to Arizona sign on the bridge over the Colorado river on Interstate 8
  4. Never did biz with Carvin or Keisel for guitars or guitar amps. I did have one rack mounted stereo solid state power amp for a while. I did go over to their then office and warehouse which was north and east of San Diego for some reason or another. But that is it.
  5. $22.12 out the door. And that is one cool score.
  6. I used coiled cords for years and years, I don't know why I switched out to straight ones but I did some years ago. I never noticed a sound difference.
  7. @Kathleen Homm I grew up and lived on LBI and went to the Le Garage Discotheque regularly, In fact I may have been there that night. I may also have been tripping that night (Tripping was a regular occurrence for me.back in that era).
  8. My home insurance covers $40,000 for personal items in the house. Of which I only have maybe 10 grand worth of stuff in the house.
  9. RIP Robbie Robertson. He is recognized for his work as lead guitarist for Bob Dylan in the mid-late 1960s and early-mid 1970s; as guitarist and songwriter with the Band from their inception until 1978. That is all I really knew of him. Rest In Peace Robbie you were a great one......
  10. +1 on Larryz's comments above. Be tenacious and don't give up. get some lessons from a good player near you. Good luck.
  11. I think the Fangster likes being back, and he is seeming very reasonable in his responses and posts. So far so good.
  12. I saw Canned Heat at a venue in Philly or thereabouts. They were decent and not too awful loud.

  19. I absolutely liked the sound of those pups in my Firebird I just hated the hum.
  20. I was never a P90 fan. The ones I used back in the day hummed. My Firebird had them in it so when I sold the Firebird, I did not miss it a bit.
  21. I would use Duncan Little 59'ers if I wanted new pups in my strat clone https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Ltl59SrtWhtset--seymour-duncan-little-59-strat-pickup-set-white
