  1. We broke the old record of how many consecutive days above 110*F. and it will continue off and on until October/September. New AC is working beautifully. Need the wife's car AC unit looked at on Monday. I am so used to the heat I go back and forth to shops and stores without too much trouble, even when it is 110/118 in the shade. Which means 120's in the sun. If I could live somewhere else for my monthly costs in my community which are so low as to be un-matchable elsewhere. My monthly costs including climate control/ water/sewer/ association dues, and property taxes are less than $500 a month maybe even $450 or lower, plus internet, Netflix and Amazon prime. If I could live somewhere else for that money I would go there. House and cars and everything else is all paid for so no costs there except maintenance costs.
  2. I have some Presonus stuff, and it is excellent.
  3. Welcome back Fangster, the place was never the same after you were gone.
  4. @p90jr I am one of those who will never play a cover tune the way the original artist did the tune. I always make the tune fit my view of the world or subject, so none of the above in your original thread would make me cringe when hearing someone play a different set of changes or change the melodies a bit. I think there is a difference in a tribute band and a improvisational cover artist. I have good friends in several tribute bands. A tribute band has to get it as near to the original as can be done. But someone who does modified covers does not have to meet the strict tribute band rules. In fact I do a single cover of several Beatles tunes chopped up starting with one verse of Come Together, the second verse is from With A Little Help From My friends, then next verse from Come Together and so until the end where I use She Loves You Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, She Loves You Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Hello Goodbye Hello Goodbye, Goodbye. And to add to that I use a completely different set of ways I recorded the changes than What the Beatles did with Sir George Martin producing.
  5. Well it might be so Caev, but at least he makes for some discussion on a board that is getting pretty slow, he may perk it up a bit, we shall see. (look at all the action we got on the subject in the last few days, more action than we have seen for a long time).
  6. To the Fangster I mentioned you on the music player forums and we had a discussion on you and the past. Let me know if you decide to rejoin, and have trouble doing so, Here is the URL of the board https://forums.musicplayer.com/forum/29-guitar-forum/ From Larryz DBM, the Ban has been lifted on Fang. You can email him and let him know. He has to use his original email to log back on. If he needs help finding his email ID to log in, password, etc., You can help him by sending PM's to Dave Bryce for any info needed. Take care, Larryz
  7. That is the way I remember it as well. (Although I needed the reminder from Larryz above).
  8. Guitar Player Forum Refugees URL below. I don't know if that will let you view the Guitar Player Forum Refugees. https://www.facebook.com/groups/123386328039007
  9. I set that one up years ago when the MP forums were in some sort of transitional changes. I invited Caev an administrator, and after the troubles were over I left the Guitar Player Forum Refugees board and forgot all about it. Then with the new changes in these MP forums. I decided to go create another Facebook forum but someone remembered the Guitar Player Forum Refugees and Caev let me back in and also remade me as an administrator.
  10. He was on the Guitar Player forum for many years. About 4 or 5 years ago he was banned from MP Forums for some of his replies, which pissed off some of the members here.
  11. I hope it is $99 well spent surfergirl. Enjoy new gear day when it gets to you.👍
  12. Just got an e-mail from Whitefang, wondering how I am doing. I still kept in touch with him via e-mail since he got banned from Music Player Forums. I always kinda liked his posts on the MPF's even when he got a little testy. It was amusing and kept the conversations going when the MPF board got dead for days at a time. So I posted the above on Guitar Player Forum Refugees, and then thought to post this here
  13. Electric, Cream; Sunshine Of Your Love (just the riff in single notes that day)(then a few weeks later, the song with riff/full chords). Acoustic, Animals; House Of the Rising Sun. I learned them both the same day waaaaaaaay back in the day.(maybe 1968 or so)
  14. I never had a Carvin anything or Keisel anything. I did go out and visit their retail location in Southern California when Carvin was still selling amps and guitars under the Carvin Brand name.
  15. I can't get in with that link BiC.I guess it is a members only group, and I do not think I am still a member. Please have the moderator send me an invite.
  16. @surfergirl Nice chart and it looks useful.
  17. Got'em all, don't use the slide anymore nor the capo.
  18. Turner began her career with Ike Turner's band Kings of Rhythm in 1957. Under the name Little Ann, she appeared on her first record, "Boxtop", in 1958. In 1960, she debuted as Tina Turner with the hit duet single "A Fool in Love". The duo Ike & Tina Turner became "one of the most formidable live acts in history."
  19. Welcome aboard Julio Herrera. (Benvenuto a bordo di Julio Herrera)
  20. Weather is excellent here in the lovely Sonoran Desert, much cooler and clearer than other recent years.
  21. It would be OK you don't have to do all of Facebook just the group. But so far no decision is made on how to continue MPN/Guitar Player. So no rush.
  22. We did do a group back a while ago Caev. But I think we decided it was not at all as easy or popular as the forum boards. So we deleted that group. I can't find it on FB or on my computer anymore
  23. I can do a Facebook group for those who frequent this board. I already know Caev on Facebook as well as a few others like Skip from this board. Let ma know any of you who would like to participate. It can be members only group or open to the public group.
