  1. Yup, found it. It's on your profile, click "see my activity" and then "posts" in the activity tab on the left. Thanks
  2. Also, in the previous iteration of the forum "your posts" had been moved to "followed content". But I don't see that there anymore?
  3. Nope...maybe it needs a little while to reset?
  4. But can we only view this forum when logged in? I mean, I used to mostly view the forum logged out and only log in if I wanted to post something, is that not possible anymore?
  5. Yeah, I've already earned six badges (and counting) doing nuttin'...
  6. I can't believe I'm being considered a newbie...
  7. I love Forscore on my iPad, it"s a terrific solution for charts, look fwd to checking out the Mac app. Q: does the sync across devices only work with iCloud, or can you utilize other cloud services like Box/Dropbox/Google?
  8. I used to own a B208D and it was fantastic. Have owned an EV ZLX, Turbosound, Presonus, JBL EON and QSC since, and they are all a lot more expensive but not really any better. If Behringer makes a MkII with two inputs I"m scooping that up yesterday.
  9. I vividly remember his masterclasses at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He had demi-god status there. Thanks for the knowledge, mr. Harris. Swing on in peace.
  10. Yikes! Definitely something to consider. Maybe the new CPU"s will make a diff but with the extra translation layer I seriously doubt that. The Cloud states their plugins are currently being tested with Big Sur
  11. I thought I could only get by with Zenology Pro and the extensions, but the truth is that the technology differs somewhat. The "standalone" plug-ins do sound different (better) in my opinion. Also, the XV-5080 plug-in is basically the JV-1080 with a different skin. They share the exact same waveforms although I think the XV-5080 had a few of its own presets. The biggest problem is that all the Roland plugs are really CPU-heavy, still, though. Even Zenology. So did you move from the purchased license to a cloud subscription? Did they give you a discount on the subcription because you already had a license for Zenology Pro? I don't know about the plugins, but the hardware XV5080 had all the presets of the 1080 plus 2 or 3 extra banks with new stuff, and more MFX, iirc. I assumed the plugin would be identical, which would make it a no-brainer over the 1080 plugin at the same price. I've heard more people comment on the CPU-hunger of Roland's VI's. If this is gonna happen, it will coincide with the purchase of a new MBP, which I hope will be up to the challenge.
  12. I can't say enough good things about the Beyers, mostly the DT-990 (which I have) and its closed-back twin DT-770. I just replaced the earpads on mine, $30 for the parts, and now my 14-year old cans look like new. I love that about Beyers, almost all parts are replaceable, and available. They are so comfortable I frequently forget I have them on and walk away only to have them almost yanked off. Which is no big deal, the cable is replaceable as well. P.S. I also have AudioTechnica ATH-M20X and Tascam TH-300X. Both are okay for what I paid, but not even close to the DT990's.
  13. I've wondered if I should bite the bullet and go for a RolandCloud membership instead of outright purchasing Zenology Pro (and maybe XV5080). I'd hate to have yet another subscription, but there are quite a few things in there that I like.
  14. I've gigged it intensively since October 2018, except for the lockdown, of course. We do a lot of outdoor gigs here in SoCal, and that takes its toll on your equipment in terms of dirt and bugs. For the most part it's fine, really, but I have noticed some inconsistencies creeping in on the keys, occasionally a note not triggering, or at the incorrect velocity etc. Nothing too egregious, but it's there. At this point I'm not too worried about it, but it's something I keep an eye on. The same goes for my 2016 Korg Krome 73, which is definitely in worse shape. I view both instruments as disposables/write-offs, as in I don't think I'd bother fixing/repairing them. Just get rid of them when reliability fails. It's different for my Fantom X7. That one I will continue to patch up for as long as I can.
  15. I have had the free Zenology for a while now and really like it, thinking of buying the full Pro version. It's not cheap at $229, but there's a quality/finish to the sound that I can't find anywhere else. Has anybody else here taken the plunge and care to comment? Thanks.
  16. I"m looking to replace my Krome 73, and for me the FA-07 doesn"t offer anything over the DS-76 to justify the higher price. It"s amazing how capable a $1000 board is these days. The Juno DS, Kross, and MX are all excellent value gigging axes.
  17. The 13" MBP is still $1299 https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro/13-inch
  18. I"d be super happy if it was Organ-scape and/or Brass-scape. When Spectrasonics plugs those holes, it"s over.
  19. The 21.5" and 27" iMac are still on Intel, too. I think I'll get a 14" MBP but I'm strangely unenthusiastic about it. Lot of coin, that $$$ could buy a great hardware instrument.
  20. Ticks a lot of boxes for me... [video:youtube]
  21. I play it every week and don't like it for piano, it does the job but nothing more. Still, I'd take the Compact over the HP76 because organ on weighted sucks more than piano on semi-weighted, and the HP76 is not worth the extra $600 and 5.5 lbs, imo. Or I'd get the Electro 6D 73, and save even more $$$.
  22. I"ve had my MODX8 for 3 years now and still waiting to fall in love with it. It"s a sensible purchase and very capable, but it doesn"t vibe for me. OTOH, I got one of my churches to purchase a Krome 88. I used to carry my 73 there, and picked the 88 over the MODX8 for that gig. My Fantom X7 has turned into an actual paperweight, it turns on, but no sound and the display is frozen, the buttons don"t do anything
