  1. I've done a couple band livestreams from my driveway, actually 3 so far, each with a different band. My driveway is big enough that we can be set up in a square with 15' (feet, Nigel, feet) between us on all sides. My floyd band did a lean lineup, with just the 4 piece and sax (bass and sax are a couple, so safe to let them share a corner). 2 of my bands are going to be doing some really interesting live streams in the next few weeks. My improv band (4 pieces, no gtr) will be doing a livestream from the Museum of Natural History & Science in June, in the dinosaur exhibit! Dinosaurs, lasers and hazers, o my! There will be 7 of us including staff in the room, but with all distancing measures in place. PinkFreud is doing a livestream from the Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque on June 7. I'm not sure exactly how that's going to work yet logistically, but minimal staffing (no in-house audience) basically the producer of the event, sound engineer, 2 camera men, and my band, which is up to 8, including my visuals guy. It's got the largest indoor stage in Albuquerque which will help with distancing. But I'm envisioning a 2 or 3 tiered approach, with drums and vocalists on the top tier, and the 3 of us on flat stage, or else 2/2/2 with risers, stage, and floor. I should add that the majority of my band has had to work in their various offices the entire time, and some of them are in healthcare. . I've been in total quarantine since this started: I think I've gone to the produce store 3x in as many months, I have my groceries delivered. And I have a 2 tiered keyboard stand with planks set up in the garage to disinfect the groceries before they're brought into the house, and aside from perishables, they stay in the garage another day or 2 after that. Only last week did we start doing carryout, and even then, it's microwaved (blech) before consumed. And since I expect the numbers to start climbing this weekend nationally, I'm done with the carryout for a while again. I literally only leave the house to walk the dogs. Its not an exaggeration. When we did the driveway jams, everyone was wearing masks except me while singing. I take this shit seriously as my wife is more than high risk and ..well, there you go. I'm not in a hurry to be around other people honestly, so this will be an acceptable effort. Plus...I'm gonna be setting up a synth rig with a dinosaur. HOW COOL IS THAT? :D
  2. I spent some time with the Behringer Odyssey. BUILT LIKE A TANK! Full size keys, and the keybed was more than playable. Sounded big. I guess I have come to grips with the fact that Behringer is like the 'kit car': we'd all like the REAL thing but most of us will never amass the $$ needed to get all these things in REAL editions, but this will have to suffice. And sometimes the kit car MORE than scratches the itch. I'm on board with their String Ensemble, if it ever comes out. And I'd be lying if I said I dont want a kit car CS80! I'll take a Pro Soloist as well.
  3. Just saw this Dan. Your loyalty to your employer is always seen as an asset, and you're obviously not a jumper. You're gonna get on your feet quick, I know it. And as a wise farmer from Iowa taught me, aint nothing so bad it couldn't be worse. You got this.
  4. Not compatible with Integra 7? Wow...
  5. FOR sure. I should have mentioned I live in a gated community of <40 homes. Maybe half the community is 'social', half I've never met in 5 years. At the end there may have been 8-10 people milling around, but they were in groups (family or couples), and distanced apart. Most just did a few laps around the hood. It went pretty much as I had imagined and hoped it. Will probably do it again with one of my other bands. Some mayors down here are opening their communities in defiance of governors orders. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Granted, New Mexico should not be used as a model for reopening, but we have kept our numbers down for our population apparently. I saw an article somewhere (a NY paper maybe, or a DC) that was applauding our governor's efforts and results. Still climbing though. I should also mention that of the 5 of us, 4 of us have been totally quarantined (including having groceries delivered) for over a month, and the 5th is an essential worker at a tool n die. I was mildly apprehensive, even knowing I was taking every single precaution I could imagine. Even told folks they needed to take care of any bathroom needs before they got here, cuz they weren't getting in!
  6. It went well. The one neighbor we were all concerned about almost derailed the whole thing on the first song. He crossed the perimeter immediately, and I had to hold up my hand and say STOP. Go back to the line (which was a generous 20 feet from us) or it's over. He waved, set his chair down at the line, and then 3 family members joined him there. Musicians had 12-15ft diameter of safe space. I had everything set up except the board and computer, so no one touched my stuff, and vice versa, had rugs on the driveway, extension cords and boxes run to the four corners, and it went pretty smoothly once we found a 'camera angle' that would at least show the 5 of us. (it's pretty far back, but the audio feet is pretty okay! All we did was one "room mic" in the center, and the 3 vocal mics via usb ,and it's pretty tolerable. We played for 2 hours, and by the end many of the neighbors had come and started to congregate, but they were remaining more than safe distances from others, and they were families that were congregating together, so all in all, I felt pretty good about the results, the safety of everyone, and my neighbors and our friends who checked out the stream were pretty frkn happy for the diversion. I take this shit seriously, and just having the band here in my driveway, all wearing masks, was still causing me a little anxiety, but it was a healthy anxiety. And to be truthful, it was still less contact than going shopping, which I have tried to not do.
  7. I've spoken to 2 doctors, said with my distancing plans in action, should be fine.
  8. Definitely not worth any of that. But being outside....whatever, that's why I'm asking: I know there are medical professionals in our forum.
  9. Cars blocking the driveway, and blocked off the sidewalk at our property lines, minimum 10ft safety for everyone. Facebook live for neighbors, etc.
  10. I have a legit question: I'm thinking of throwing a driveway concert tomorrow. 4 piece band (me/keys, drums, bass, gtr). Outside, in my driveway, we set up in a square facing each other, but I've already measured it, and there's a minimum of 10ft between all of us, and I'll have our sidewalk blocked off, as well as our driveway. Weather is 78 and sunny tomorrow. Everyone will handle their own gear. If we keep that 10ft distance for 2 hours outside and for the duration of our time together, is this safe, or stupid?
  11. And I just took possession of the Odyssey, looking forward to hearing it tonite!
  12. My way of maximizing space was to take a K&M Table stand (Stage 3) and make a shelf with a lip so I get fit more gear on the 2nd tier. The synth stack is another K&M table stand with an Omega 2 tier, and 3 homemade shelves again to maximize space.
  13. And in the house, since there's no more band rehearsals for a while, I packed up the drum and guitar stuff, and unpacked everything else for looping jams.
  14. I've got an 'ad hoc' space in the garage, for when I want to use a bit of volume and not disturb.
  15. Good to know, thanks. I got another today, for a different website, a grocery store (and I dont remember having an account, but it's likely I do I have a rewards card). It looks like a legit, but new, google alert, but i trust nothing. I just close the browser, and reboot. But I'm keeping an eye on everything.
  16. Can you see the Real Me? Can ya?
  17. Nope. I quit going to the gym about 10 days before they started shutting things down. Rehearsals about 2 weeks before.
  18. Hey, this was a first. I went to get on the forum, and I received a google chrome alert that an app (didn't mention which) had a data breach, and my password for this site was compromised.
  19. Sounds like an amazing fly-on-the-wall moment... Bill is of course a master of Progressive Rock Drumming, something my funk band's drummer had to come to grips with when we started covering Long Distance Runaround and he came to understand the agony of playing in 5/8 while the rest of the band is in 4/4, just because. I would love to hear what Bruford sounds like laying down a James Brown groove! Interested to check out who will be in this lineup of King Crimson. It's a band that never lacks for musical talent, to say the least. It looks like the lineup is the same as last year's, which was STELLAR. For Bruford funk: the jam section in Roundabout?
  20. Im just gonna keep waiting here until they reissue the Poly 800
  21. I can't get that far. Thumbdrive is loaded, and in the mojo, but phone or computer can't find it IN the mojo. I emailed crumar, but honestly i know that's a waste of time for at least a week thanks to NAMM.
  22. It really is cumbersome at best. And it doesnt work for me presently, so there's that too.
