TheSpruceMoose
Hey here's a cut from one of our practice sessions... its a trio with me doubling on keyboards and sax... little rough but the main idea is there http://www.rpi.edu/~marioj/session2/song1.mp3
Phait
Here's another rouge~fire demo.... it's kinda out there I mean... not my typical kind of arrangement. It's kind of an ironic song, given the title you'd think this might be hard rock, but it's not. Phait
Nursers - "Learmont" -- sounded very MIDI-file like. Cheesey in a way, but maybe it depends what context it could sound best in. A video game perhaps. I kept expecting a change of pace or something more attention grabbing to happen in a few spots throughout it. There's a couple of my rouge~fire demos at http://www.phait-accompli.com/rougefire/

Tobus
rouge~fire. You didn't mean rogue did you? Crazy how there's such a big difference between rouge and rogue.. rogue is a big bad stealthy criminal... while rouge is a type of rosy cheek make-up. I'm sure you knew that though. Steve LeBlanc
I composed this piece while observing my son's kindergarden class. I recorded all the music but felt something was missing, Miles came in my studio and started singing, we started playing around with plug-ins, found a vocoder setting that sounded fun, voila. the composition is very angular and weird, I'm still not sure I even 'like' it...but well, it's music I guess most of the tune was recorded using my brand new recording computer (Sweetwater CS Cube) with Cubase SX3...still learning SX3, so far I love it. milles http://www.artistlaunch.com/sleblanc btw, though the Lm-7 drums don't sound too bad, I probably will try to add real drums to this at some point, worth the effort I think phone cam pic of my new studio set-up: http://www.t-mobilepictures.com/photos/photo07/54/db/43dc64e12a65.jpg still needs some work of course (painted walls, mixer needs new location, etc.) Quote http://www.youtube.com/notesleb

Bunny Knutson
Hiya, KC folks! Here's another stoopid song of mine, written and recorded last week. It features my vintage Casiotone 301. Can I buy one directly from you? The cuts I've heard from it sound REALLY nice. poly
For those of you who are old enough to remember the progressive music of the 70's(but with just a tad more pop), check out these two songs from a 'CD-in-the-works' by my band "Sonic Music". The first one was dedicated to Gentle Giant. Most of the lead lines are minimoogs with no midi;) (The solo towards the end is a keyboard) http://www.sonicmusic.net/I\'m%20Falling%20Down.mp3 http://www.sonicmusic.net/Closer.mp3 Thanks for listening! Gulliver
Steve, your Mills is a cute little composition. I like its jazzy feel and unpredictability, so to speak. Quote I am back.
Gulliver
Poly, it seems that your songs belong to the stuff that I like very much... I am a well-known sucker for all things proggy! I would say... quite Genesis influenced, but also with a fair amount of fusion sensibilities. Great stuff. In the vein of best from the 70's indeed! Btw, your singer's voice (or was it you singing?) reminded me of Phil Collins, and that's a compliment. Quote I am back.

But "Closer"... I still think it's closer to Genesis (especially if considering A Trick Of The Tail era) and jazz-rock overall. And I would repeat again - great stuff. Quote I am back. poly
Hmmm... I'll have to take another Progger's advice and go back and check 'em out again. I haven't heard those two albums in YEARS... I might listen with a new attitude. I was more from the 'jazz/fusion/canterbury crowd...Mahavishnu,Egg,Bruford,National Health (Dave Stewart was always my favorite-after Hendrix )! Thanks Dave! Elvis Bigfoot
All of the music I have done has been strictly for my own amusement made with bare bones out of date equipment and mixed either through headphones or on home stereo speakers that were purchased in the late 70's so please be gentle with your criticism. First up, a short piece that I came up with after I bought a Korg N5. I wanted to do something with the cheesier sounds it had such as electric cowbell and "beat boxing", so I sequenced a beat and played the rest of the parts over that and recorded them to an 8 track HD recorder. Funky Korg I bought a Roland S-10 sampling keyboard at a pawn shop and used it to add some samples to a beat to crack one of my friends up. I sampled dialog from the movie Sling Blade to come up with... http://f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/gern_blanstin/vwp2?.tok=bcYNWZVB7ZcP3tkk&.dir=/music&.dnm=Doyle%27s+Song.mp3&.src=bc W A R N I N G! Contains STRONG language. I've used Acid Music and Fruity Loops to do a few remixes of Beastie Boys songs. I got the vocal samples for the first one from the Sonic Foundry website when they did a remix the Beastie Boys contest. The second one (Pass The Mic) features a synth riff that I came up with and played on the Korg. Nice To Be Alive Pass The Mic Remix p.s. Some of these use copyrighted material but I just did them for fun, not to make money or to advertise anything. I don't think I've violated any laws or broken any rules but I will remove the links if neccesary.
