  2. Here in DC one of the major radio stations (WPGC) used to feature local artists for a half hour on Sunday evenings from 9:30pm to 10:00pm. The show was called "DC Homejams". Our song "Weaker But Wise" was featured on the show once some time ago but the message seems even more relevant today so I thought I'd post it. The demo project was a collaboration of the following local artists- Jerry Wilder / vocals, rhythm track sequence Skip Fennell / keyboard horn arrangement Llyod Moore / guitar Lincoln Ross / lyrics, producer Would appreciate any comment, criticism or advice. http://mp3.washingtonpost.com/get_song?song_id=9651 Thanks Lincoln (the elder)
  3. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY Please give us a listen if you get 3 minutes. Thanks Lincoln This message has been edited by lrossmusic@hotmail.com on 05-13-2001 at 02:06 AM
  4. Steve, You are right. Age is probably not so much a factor. I would guess that Cecil Taylor is probably in his late sixties by now and has always played what we used to call 'outside'. I never could get into it myself but I respect it. I never felt this way about Charlie Parker or Miles but Coltrane definately played a lot of 'outside' stuff after "Love Supreme". Many of the older cats used to consider "Love Supreme" outside also but I love that record and never get tired of listening to it. I guess everybody draws the line differently when it comes to what is 'outside' and what is not. )
  5. "Evil Genius" David Bryce Would be a great soundtrack for action packed sci-fi show or video game if it isn't already! "If You Wanna" Professor Tundra Imagine yourself riding a roller coaster with headphones and listening to this track. All I can say is fasten your seatbelts folks and have fun!
  6. Thanks for listening Truth. Just checked out your "Soiled Alms" and "Free Jam". Almost sounded like different movements of the same work. Hey man you really get around on the keys. Perhaps a little too outside for my tastes though (I'm in the over 50 group) but I can appreciate the musicianship and the ENERGY. Brought to mind Cecil Taylor (avant guard jazz pianist). 7. I started listening a couple of days ago and just by coincidence I began with http://www.mp3.com/dansouth . Bingo right out of the box!!! It was refreshing for me to hear a new classical composer so gifted. If you haven't already I highly suggest you check him out. You are in for a treat.
