Who wants a "clear" Hammond B3 organ & Leslie speaker?

Recommended Posts

According to info from "BB Organ" and some Google searches I've done -- apparently, Prince wanted one of each...

No idea if that's 100% accurate, but for sure, I'm pretty convinced the tone of the Leslie would not sound as good as WOOD.

Must be nice to have the $$$ to spend on such an extravagance though...

That wood only matter in certain environments. The room could have panels of plexiglass, glass, metal, etc. making the speaker cabinet material moot.

Prince may have been able to do a show with the cabinet made from sheets of ice, performing a set before it melted.

Check this out. Artist Duane Keiser recorded painting an ice cream cone as it melted. First he captured it fresh then as it melted in stages until it was just the cone with melted ice cream. At multiple stages the painting was brought to a "finished state." If you stop the video at certain stages the painting is not a painting in process., it is a "finished" rendition of the melting ice cream cone. He had to work extremely fast to bring the stages to a "finished" state.

How about a few goldfish to go in there.

Originally broadcast on (In Concert, Midnight Special or Don Kirshner's Rock Concert?). Note the fish in the drum.
