nursers
Just got my JV-1080 back from the repairer (so excited to find an aussie repairer in same city as me) and fired up the demo songs. Decided to record them [video:youtube] Quote The Keyboard Chronicles Podcast Check out your fellow forumites in an Apple Music playlist Check out your fellow forumites in a Spotify playlist My Music: Stainless Fields
AROIOS
The 3rd tune is very tasty. Its composer Mr. Mitsuru Sakaue and his business partner Mr. Katsunori Ujiie used to be the most prominent synth DEMO sequencers for Yamaha and Roland in the 90's. Mr. Sakaue is semi-retired nowadays, Mr. Ujiie is still actively producing and demoing. His Youtube channel MusictrackJP has been a sensation for the last 10 years. Wow that is so cool, didn't know any of that The demos certainly hold up really well considering. mate stubb
I recall my JVs with fondness. I got a lot of use out of a JV-80, and later had a JV-1080. Picked up a XV-2020 a couple years ago... Quote Moe ---
Konnector
I still have mine. Fully loaded with expansion cards and in great shape. Bought it new when they first came out. I have an FA-07 now which is much more versatile, so I think it might be time to let it go soon.

David Emm
That was amusing! While I can smell the 80s in the general quality of the general soundset, a lot of it is still playable, even moreso as just one track or a pad component. I had the grail of the keyboard version, the XP-30, which was the engine minus the sequencer. There was/still is a lot of recycling of the sounds, but Yamaha does it some, Korg moreso. I'm okay with that, because its all useful paint in the end. Its no different than guitarists owning instruments from several makers for their varied characters. The Roland Cloud's version isn't half-bad, if finding the hardware versions seems too problematic. I bought their comprehensive D-50 and its turned out to be a useful addition. AROIOS
Here's a Yamaha demo MIDI sequence I adapted to JV-1010/XP-30 20 years ago. It really shows off the JV/XP family's good fit for Smooth Jazz. Laidback - JV/XP
