1000!

I just noticed it!

If I could indulge for a moment with an anecdote:

I was at a local jam session last Monday, and I noticed two "firsts":

1. I was gravitating towards Hammond rather than AP/EP (based on the material and the musos), and that historically has not been my comfort zone

2. While playing, I was busy working the "drawbars" (well, it was my Stage 2, but the fact is I was using a new real-time technique that again is not something I've grown up with).

Four years ago, I didn't even own a volume pedal. Now I have:

- A hammer-action and a waterfall board, close together

- A pedalboard with two switch-type and one volume

- A loom of colour-coded cables

- A wider awareness of so many musical styles, artists and performances.

Thank you to all those who make this place so useful. I've learnt so much about so many subjects from coming here.

Here's to the next 1000!

Cheers, Mike.

Congratulations Mike! :keynana::w00t::keynana:

Your ..... expenses........ as a result of this forum are of a remarkably similar nature to mine.

Did you know that 1000 in Roman numerals is "M"..... Could this be a clue that something else is needed: Mojo....moog.....minikeys??? :D

Best wishes. xx

Well, a bit less. My big-ticket item was the NS2, but that was on the GAS list before I lurked at KC. As a result of this forum, I've bought:

- FC7 (£60)

- Oberheim MC2000, s/h (£90!)

- Some custom cables (about £50)

Plus bits of neoprene, velcro, cable ties, call it £20.

So that's some £220, or $300-$350 US depending on exchange rate. But I thank/blame this forum for my X stand "mod" which gets my two boards close together, and for the time and effort in making a pedalboard, and so on.

minikeys??? :D
Actually already in place, from many years ago. Yamaha CBX-K1XG:

Not much used these days, but quite a nice spec: 5-pin MIDI, internal speakers, battery power, and an aux in. Ideal for campfires!

Cheers, Mike.
