mate stubb
I'm leaning towards a Z stand for my organ controller project, and it looks like the QL Z-70 is the one to get. It folds down, and adjusts wide enough to fit a 2 octave pedal board underneath. Anyone have any comments on this stand? They may have been discontinued as I don't see a lot of places offering them for sale anymore. Anybody got one that they don't need? Joe P
Get an X stand, they're much better.
bhodaway10
I just took a quick look at the z-70. With the pedal board I use, the expression pedal mounts on top. I would think the crossbar would get in the way unless you pushed it forward towards you or it's mounted tall enough over the crossbar. Why not the ws-550? http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/files/WS550.jpg I use it w/ my xk3c pro system and pedals. FYI, Pat Bianchi uses the same stand w/ his organ and full sized pedals. www.brianho.net http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/brianho www.youtube.com/brianhojazz
mate stubb
Why not the ws-550? http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/files/WS550.jpg I want something cooler looking. I guess the WS could be a fallback if I can't make the Z stand work out. Moe ---
keyoctave
I use the Z-71 with the second tier (also sold as the Z-72). Folds up similar to the Z-70 but has 3 cross members which makes it rock solid. Kurzweil PC3, Hammond SK-1 + Ventilator, Korg Triton. 2 JBL Eon 510's. Steve Force
Well, FWIW I am using a On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand Works fantastically for my Hammond XK-3c (with pro lower) and use the upper tier for a Yamaha Motif ES6. Super sturdy and breaks down compactly. http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/5/7/7/373577.jpg Steve Force, Durham, North Carolina -------- My Professional Websites
kanker.
Well, FWIW I am using a On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand Works fantastically for my Hammond XK-3c (with pro lower) and use the upper tier for a Yamaha Motif ES6.I use that at times too, although its main use is for my MP8II. I generally use the QuikLok M-91 Monolith for my XK-3c system. Perfect height for me. A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable.
mate stubb
Most of these other Z stands have a width of about 36", which is too narrow to fit a full set of hammond pedals inside. The Z-70 can get out to about 44", which is the full width of the organ. Any other suggestions? Moe ---
