Interesting. I'm glad I'm not alone!! I'm very new to recording. So, perhaps it'll pass as time goes. Part of it is that I'm just not comfortable with the operation of ProTools. So, I'm thinking of THAT instead of just playing.

I heard a story about Aerosmith in the studio and the producer removing the red light bulb so they never knew when they were recording.

It happens to everyone I think. I remember getting my first 4 track and grinding my teeth horribly while recording. No reason for it really. That was 15 years ago and it's still really nerve-racking. Probably never goes away.

I guess when you are paying $2000 a day for the studio and $150 an hour for the engineer, the producer is hovering all smiling and beady eyed trying to cloak his lizard skin while he envisions a hit, and the last line you did has left you a little unsure of your ability and all the while the "girlfriend" is acting strange and you are not quite sure if she is just going to lose her composure..............probably easy to understand why one would jerk the trigger when they call out "rolling tape"

Managed to obtain a Colorsound Wah. It's very very vocal, and has a great and broad transit. It's kind of trebly and sort of spacey....I have to mess with it some more. I'm still waiting on another Teese RMC. Once I get it, I'll try to record both and post audio.

LOL...I have to credit Millo. I went to musictoyz, and they had one. It's a new one. I'd LIKE to have my old one, but.....

It's wider and slightly shorter than any other Wah I've used. It has a great feel, and the foot rocking pass is very very comfortable. It's pass is broad, meaning you don't go thru the sound too fast, which is the major problem I have with most Wah's I've encountered.

It is very vocal. But, it's a bit on the trebley side, and has this wierd spacey sound it emits when you go thru the pass too fast. It sort of sounds like it would be perfect for funk. If you slow down your foot motion, it's pretty cool. I have to live with it some more, before I can really be sure about it.

I'll say this...it's got the best feel as far as the foot pass, of any Wah I've played in a long time.

Also, it's basic black. I miss my old bright yellow one.

The Geoffrey Teese "Real McCoy Custom 2" (aka RMC2) wah is in the mail, headed my way. I hope to have it by early next week.

In the next month of two, I will try to spend some time with the RMC wahs, and the colorsound, and post some impressions, and some sound clips.

Wow!

You know, I use a Tech 21 Killer Wail. It has the three position switch on the bottom (low, middle, high), and it's a cool little wah pedal. My problem (with all wah pedals) is that I wear a size 16 shoe!

I never heard of many of the other pedals you guys mentioned throughout this entire thread and it helps me with my students who have "wah questions and inquiries."

Loved the audio examples!!!!!!!

Thank you sir!!

Yeah man, I must admit I am more of an envelope follower type o' dude.

The wah thang is so cool when I hear Robben Ford do "Cut Me To The Bone." That killer organ emulation is the only reason I use one.

Don't know how I missed this thread, but man... KUDOS for all the effort, time, work etc put into this.

It's opened my eyes on the whole Wah market... I've owned a Dunlop Original Crybaby for maybe 10 years or so now, and while I like it, I might have to upgrade someday(year). I definitely liked the Fulltone Deluxe for the fact that you can get 3 different sounds out of it that are all pretty decent. The WOF one, as most have replied, does tend to stand out above most of em.

I just don't know if I can justify $200+ for a wah right now. Hmmm... Christmas is 8 months away... :D :D

I just bought another Teese Wheels of Fire wah. I sold one a couple years ago for economic reasons, and I always missed it...

And the resurrection of this thread inspired me to record a clip with it!!

And since it is called the "Wheels of Fire" wah, what better tune to record with it than White Room???

Cheers,

I've had the chance to mess with a Bad Horsie, and LOVE the switchless aspect - great for quick changes on stage, as my feet can't keep up to my hands...
Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
