mdrs Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 Oh.. So Ignore the track order soundclick put it in.. Go by the title I named each clip, such as "Wah Pedal #8", which of course is #8 on the list I have in my first post on this thread. Ignore the order in which you find the clips on Soundclick. The order you find them in on Soundclick does happen to be reverse order....listing #8 first, then #7, etc.. Be guided by the title of each track on Soundclick. That title corresponds with my list on the first post. Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. mdrs Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 A String....I want to thank you for finding this thread!! YOU DA MAN!! Milo...my plan is to record audio tracks for a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, a Teese RMC1, and a Teese RMC2 that I'm HOPEING to have sometime soon. I just sent my Tele to have a bone nut put on it, so I may have to wait till I get it back to make the recordings fully consistant. I also plan on a overdrive pedal extravaganza in the near future. I've got a crap load of them. I'm expecting a KLON in about two weeks. Once I have it, I'll get to work on a "Battle of the Overdrive Pedals" thread. Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Professor Monkey Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Do you know about the acoustic mimicing pedals?
A String Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Yes. Just use the numbers, that Don provided. Craig Stringnetwork on Facebook String Network Forum My Music
Bluesape Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I liked 3 and 7, in that I felt I could hear a bit more single coil Tele jangle through them. The others didn't seem to have the same definition, and discerning a SC from a HB would be more difficult. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
mdrs Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 To any of you "Wah" fanatics out there....I found out that the Teese RMC2 I ordered is not likely to be here before July 07 at the earliest (I ordered it something like Jan 07!! ) I called the guy to get an update on the order, and found out that he has several "Wheels Of Fire" custom wah pedals in stock (another of the models that Geoffrey Teese makes....supposed to sound like the old Colorsound pedals, which is what get me turned on to playing a wah many years ago). So, I have one on the way!! In case anyone is interested in getting one, PM me. I can put you in touch with the guy who's got em. I still plan on recording audio clips of a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, and several Teese models....the RMC1, RMC2, and the Wheels Of Fire wahs after I get the RMC2 HOPEFULLY in July. MILLO Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Excellent! Looks yummy. I'd be interested in reading your impressions of it, even before you post a clip.... unless you really want to keep it a mystery. On another note... I waited about 10 months for my Hermida Zendrive to show its face. "Without music, life would be a mistake." --from 'Beyond Good and Evil', by Friedrich Nietzsche My MySpace Space
Michael Patrick Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 I used a Wheels of Fire wah for the second half of the solo on this tune... The wah part comes in at about 1:40. Buy Tangy's latest CD, "Sorta Like Very Ultra" The Official Tangy Website
mdrs Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 First....Excellent song, Michael. Second.....You have a Wheels of Fire Wah???? How do you like it? Can you tell us about it? Tone, how wide is the sweep? Thanks. Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Playing so free, like a breath rippling by." http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=574296 http://www.myspace.com/imdrs
Michael Patrick Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks. That tune is on our soon-to-be-released album. There's plenty more where that one came from... I had a Wheels of Fire wah for a couple of years. I sold it recently and went back to using my ancient Vox. I sold it for economic reasons, not because it wasn't working for me as a wah. The sweep is insane, if you want it to be. You can dial in the deepest most vocal wah I ever heard, or with a turn of the external Q knob you can tame it to be "normal." Listen to Jimi's "Rainy Day, Dream Away" on Electric Ladyland, and that IS the sound of the Wheels of Fire.... Buy Tangy's latest CD, "Sorta Like Very Ultra" The Official Tangy Website
mdrs Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks, Michael! That's what I was HOPING you'd say. I had an ugly, yellow, boxy looking wah pedal somewhere around 1975 or so, that was the best I've ever used, personally. It was amazingly vocal, and has a sweep as broad as J Lo's....er, well, you get the idea! It got too scratchy to use, and foolishly I trashed it. BAD MOVE....as I am pretty sure it was a colorsound wah...one of the classic wah's from that era. I've been trying to match that sound ever since......hopefully the WOF headed my way will fill the bill. Thanks for the info. Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Zuben Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I was heavily medicated last night. Had a series of RF Ablations yesterday, woke up and got on the computer. Zuben Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Craig RF Ablation is when they go to a nerve root and kill it with RF. It doesn't matter where it is. It is tricky in the spinal area as if they miss you could end up with incontinence, impotence and a few other unpleasant side efects. mdrs Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Mike....well, not EVERYBODY uses a 535Q!! I like the Dunlop Hendrix for an inexpensive great sounding wah. I REALLY like the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe...it's currently in my "pedal board". I'm checking out various Teese Wah's.....I'll have more to say about them..... The 535Q is a fine wah, no doubt about it. mdrs Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Yea!!! And, I'm not a patient person, by nature! Like I have mentioned, the Wheels of Fire should be here in two days. MILLO Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Hey Don... musictoyz.com supposedly has the Teese wahs IN STOCK! I MIGHT Go ahead and just order the RMC3, to compare it w/ the Clyde Deluxe if no one has bought it by the time I decide to put the order/get the RMC3. IF I ultimately decide to make the order. The good thing about the Clyde is that, even though a bit less tuneable than the RMC3, it has the gain knob ON THE OUTSIDE! Of course, if I get that Teese the decision of what to keep will be based on sound. By the way, I got the Creation Audio Lab boost but haven't had a chance to try it. I will tomorrow morning. Mike Gug Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Mike....well, not EVERYBODY uses a 535Q!! The 535Q is a fine wah, no doubt about it. No, I know... Not everybody but I was taken by the "90% of the forumites use it" quote. I realize it wasn't likely an accurate representation but, it caught my attention. I went cheap and the Dunlop Classic is a bit thin and shrill for me. mdrs, you are to be commended for your tireless work! Mikegug www.facebook.com/theresistancemusic
