  1. I have only good experience from the Focusrite support, they helped me with some minor things with my SL61MkII and surprisingly sent me a Power supply, for free, even though it's an old product and I had bought it used. Call them and ask for help with setting your interface up in Reaper and they will most probably walk you through the process, and eventual problems can be ironed out with them directly on the phone.
  2. I mean, look at their normally very smooth well designed hardware interface, this has to got to be NAMM rush work with the 3D-printer on max speed...
  3. Okay, so, software out through the interface and then to the mixer. Sounds either like a driver setup problem, or a bug somewhere if you can't access all four streams in Reaper.
  4. The 4i4 has 4 physical inputs, and 4 physical outputs, which you will find, all of them, in your DAW. You are talking about a mixer, what mixer is that? If you want to route 4 channels from the mixer to 4 of the physical inputs on the 4i4, the mixer needs to be compatible with your strategy here.
  5. And it's kinda funny, as once upon a time there were no options.. Back in my haydays, in the early and mid 90s, I lugged a Rhodes (owned three of them) a Clavinet (owned two..) a Hammond or clone (CX3 or Acetone GT7), Leslie, Fender or Musicman amps for the electromechanical keys, and when needed, synths (to sound like synths) on top of that... Had a cpl of different ones, Juno 60, D50, Moog Prodigy, Logan String machine, Siel something, and later on an XP50 which basically replaced all of the above and some, that's when things started to change... Those were the days, and oh, my physical condition was SO much better back then.. 😂
  6. Blues-in-Gi-1.m4a Blues in Gi (Girona) - A covid lockdown improvisation (I was living in Girona, Spain, we were all locked in for 3-4 months), which in the end turned out to be a nice little blues. Drums, unknown loop randomly used for jamming. Recorded live with my phone in my room (!). Fretless bass and guitar by my friend, who did his part locked inside his home, I think in Garageband or Logic, thank Dogs for the internet! 😃
  7. I really hope these are just handcrafted prototypes, as the design and materials looks terrible!
  8. I was watching this one some week or two ago, I find she's definitely concluding it in a very easy and comprehensive way, great video!!
  9. Yeah, I would probably seldom bring a real one out, but keep it in my home studio for recording, unless of course playing in a very specific setting where the electric piano had a central part of the music.
  10. That Mackie Mix12FX definitely looks like great bang for the buck!
  11. Setting up, preparing, and rehearsing for the first session, in about two weeks, with the band I am starting to play with. Having a little walkthrough with the singer next week to start with. Standard "classic" Top 40 stuff, a lot of blues/soul, great start after having been away from this for 15+ years, I'm seriously excited!! Waiting for the K&M laptop shelf add-on, for the B4D, to arrive, early April the reseller tells me, so meanwhile using a tripod laptop stand I had lying around.
  12. Dear Santa, please let it be a 73 key for around 3k euro, and it goes right in on my next purchase list! 😂
  13. Hmmm, only one, easy! That would have to be an Oberheim Matrix 12, long time no see, in fact I haven't seen one of those, or the Xpander, since I was in my 20's, but definitely the most comprehensive and well sounding analogue I ever had my eager fingers on.
  14. I have one of these, for my HX3, total coincidence, bought it back in the days for the B4 plugin at a fire sale on a local music store, rarely used it, but when I found out about the HX3 and that it even has a preset for this it was just too good to be true! Downside with it is that it's a bit clumsy and there's no way to reprogram it (afaik).
  15. I'm just getting back into the game (after 15+ years of absence), and for now using a pair of JBL 306P MKII in the rehearsal room, but I aim at grabbing a pair of JBL EON Compact during the next months, for their versatility (can be used both as floor monitors and on stand right up) and features (built in mixer, stereo pairing, wireless control from mixer app as an option). They also have built in FX and can be run on battery (not primarily my needs here though). Did also check different KB amps first but wasn't really that impressed of what's out there. I use a Kurzweil PC3 and a HX3 Hammond module, and a Novation 61SL as second keybed (for HX3 and additional sounds from my PC3). So with the EONs I will be fully covered and not need any external mixer etc.
  16. I swear by this one, HX3 is ime the most comprehensive Hammond modelling module out there. I use it with a Native Instruments B4D drawbar controller, epic success! To inform the previous poster, HX3 has various settings for the "cleanliness" of the organ, and you can make it pretty darn greasy if that's your cuppa! 😂
  17. Hello y'all, I'm the new guy! This sounds like a serious gain stage problem, the fact that your PC4 has balanced output could be in play here, does your mixer have balanced inputs? I have a PC3 as my main kb, and have had troubles in this realm with certain signal paths. I doubt a DI would be necessary, however it's always good to have in the toolbox (passive) in case you get ground problems etc. Have a look at DBX DJDI, a great 2 channel DI for decent money (I have four of those....), and keep it in your toolbox for when needed. Good Luck!
