  1. Not at all! That would be a very strange definition for investment. You left out the keyword right there. A car is not an investment for you. Same thing with an instrument. If you bought a keyboard for casual use, you just bought something. If I bought a Triton Studio for $3k plus and made over 80K with it, I made an investment that paid off big time. I bought it to make money and I did! Why would I want to invest in baseball cards and antiques, when I can invest in something that I can actually work with and make money! I know nothing about antiques and game cards. Buying those things won't be an investment for me at all.
  2. Triton Studio 76-keys In 2002, I bought it brand new from Musician's Friend I believe. I think I wrote about it on Korg Forums once. That keyboard helped me pay my entire student loan in less than 2 years after I graduated. I never used a power conditioner with it. That beast took a beating for years and never complained...whereas I had to change 3 brand new Kronos keyboards to get one that wouldn't throw tantrum every time I turned it on at my home studio. Years later, I sold it at GC for $500 just to have room for new gears. I didn't need the money at all. I should've kept it in the closet just because. Anyway...that's been the best 'keyboard related' investment that contributed towards my music career early on.

  4. Well Facebook and Google are two different companies. With YouTube if a channel is "suspended", it's permanently gone bye bye. In other words, you can NOT recover a suspended YouTube channel. If you can still access the channel and know for sure your old videos are still there, then it's not suspended. I've never done this myself, but maybe you changed the status of your videos from public to private? or maybe there's a way to temporarily deactivate a YouTube channel so it won't show in search results? That I don't know.
  5. How does one suspend a YouTube channel though? That's the part I didn't understand.
  6. I did some research on the subject and even asked for help on this forum. I got cold feet when Kawai told me it would void the warranty.
  7. Since he was releasing albums, was he manipulating the entire album from the same artist? That would help to have a consistent sound and a more convincing 'new' album, but it would also leave a much bigger footprint of someone else's work. Towards the end Barry admits taking some 'parts' of other recordings. He says that his wife was in pain while playing, and he simply wanted to mask the noises she was making! I was surprised he even came up with that awful excuse.
  8. I'm not a cover channel, so I've never looked into these things for myself. However, I've seen many posts on YouTube's official forum about the subject. There are thousands of complaints and unanswered questions on the matter. You upload a cover without any type of license and nothing happens. Someone else does a similar cover and gets blocked or even receives a strike. Sometimes the whole year goes by without a problem and then all of a sudden people wake up to a terminated channel without warning, because multiple strikes were issued overnight. Apparently YouTube's content ID is not exactly a consistent automated solution to clear the confusion. I only upload original compositions or pieces that are public domain and still receive copyright claims from time to time. Last time, I received multiple copyright claims for Brahms Rhapsody within minutes. I file the dispute of course, and eventually they get removed, but still I don't understand what is it they're claiming exactly?
  9. Wow, this was sooooooooo interesting. Thanks!
  10. Mine is NOT constant. It only happens when I play a note. As soon as the note stops ringing, so does the buzz in the left ear. It's kind of like the softer version of Tone 9 in this video, but with a more intense ZZZZZ. It's more like that crackle sound when you play a vinyl record.
  11. Go into all the world and preach the word my son!
  12. You hear that at all times or only when you're listening to loud audio/music?
  13. It's always good to have an ENT doctor on a music forum. Thank you SteinwayB!
  14. If you stick q-tips in your ears, you're a bad bad bad boy!
  15. That's what the specialist told me as well. I'm scheduled for a hearing exam in November. Sooner the better. What if you have a punctured ear drum ? feeling a little dizzy, discomfort or lacking equilibrium would be a clue. When it comes to health, I take everything serious and demand quick appointments. Health problems don't away. No none of those issues ...besides that zzzzzzzzzzz . If I notice any change, I'll definitely reschedule.
  16. For the time being, I just put a small piece of tissue to control the air pressure when I play, and it completely takes the buzzing away, but I've yet to get used to that weird feeling. Sometimes I forget about it for a few minutes, and I don't even notice it, but once I hear it, I can't un-hear it anymore. It's almost like a fly buzzing around my left ear when I play piano. It's like...zzzz.......zzzz......zzzz.....
  17. Thanks for sharing the link. Just ordered a pair.
  18. That's what the specialist told me as well. I'm scheduled for a hearing exam in November.
  19. About 2 months ago, I noticed a buzzing type of sound in the left ear. It only happens when I play piano and/or when I use earphones. It wasn't something that got worse over time. It happened one day just like that. I don't hear it when I'm listening to music through loud speakers. The middle register seems to accentuate the buzzing the most. It's not psychological or anything. I know it's happening for sure. I always knew I wasn't suppose to use Q-tip to clear the wax, but I did it anyway. First I thought I've just pushed the wax back in there. My primary doc said it's nothing and it'll go away. 2 months later...it's not as bad, but it's still there. An ENT specialist told me yesterday that I gotta do a hearing exam to see if it's due to hearing loss. Most likely it doesn't have anything to do with using Q-tips. She said I might end up wearing some type of ear plugs while practicing. I always thought Tinnitus is a ringing type of noise that people hear it constantly, but she said this whole buzzing/ringing thing fall under the same category.
  20. Al, I was on a Windows 8.1 computer for a long time...for no particular reason. As more and more programs started ditching support for 8.1, I decided to upgrade to 10. I was able to download it for free from their official site.
  21. I don't want to sound like a cry baby, but I feel NI's upgrade policy is a little unfair. It's a great company nonetheless.
  22. Ah! There are some performance issue keywords right there!
  23. So you guys had this WIDI master for a while. Anyone not happy with it?
