  1. RABid, Subscribers don't mean anything, unless they're genuinely interested in your content. There are like thousands of completely dead channels with 100K subs. I was just checking out a "piano tutorial" channel with 70000 subscribers and he was getting like 70 to 150 views per videos. You can get that many views with 100 or less subs. If your audio and lighting is good, you can totally do this with a GoPro (for the video part). It's not going to perform good in low light, night shots...etc. I became interested in video/photography a few years ago. I still don't know what I'm doing and been wanting to take a real course for the longest time. I have a GoPro and 2 DSLR Canon cameras. The footage quality is drastically different between GoPro and a full frame DSLR. I normally just adjust the exposure a bit and render without any color correction. It's fine for what I do, but I'm sure skilled editors could do a way better job with mis-matched videos. For public events such as NAMM, various trade shows...etc....I have a Sennheiser wireless mic that I love. I also have a portable audio recorder but it's not easy to get a direct feed from the house.
  2. Beautiful! I love Kawai's action on acoustic pianos. They're heavier than most Yamaha's I've played. I played their stage pianos at NAMM, but to me it wasn't anything special...say compared to RH3.
  3. A question for long time Pianists/Casio users who use the keyboard on regular basis: Does the keybed stand the test of time? Any uneven height deviations...say after 2 years or so? Obviously I'm talking about older Casio keyboards.
  4. I played the S3000 at SynthPlex this morning. All these bouncy/not bouncy terms are confusing for me. All I know is that the keys return fast enough to do even triple strikes at a high tempo. It's a really nice keybed for the price range.
  5. Look at the title...above your post. Re: Casio Privia PX-S1000 ($900) and S3000 ($1200) I just went back many pages and found a post that listed the price in Canada. Maybe that's where it came from then.
  6. On page one we have this: Privia PX-S1000 ($600) AiR Sound Chip 24.5 lbs, 2 speakers. Privia PX-S3000 ($800) AiR Sound Chip, 24.5 lbs, 2 speakers. But now I see $900 for S1000 and $1200 for S3000.
  7. Few random suggestions to a young key player... 1) Learn to keep a solid practice routine that actually works. 2) Ear training 3) When you're told, someone's been playing keys for 40 years....etc. As impressive as it sounds, it could mean absolutely nothing at all. It's really not that hard to just grow older, buy truck load of keys and accomplish nothing musically. It could also mean that person was able to use all that time to grow as a musician or performer. This is your chance to make things happen. 4) Ear training 5) If you're considering music as a full time career, I strongly recommend that you look around for internship opportunities if possible. 6) Did I say ear training?
  8. Obviously you can't do any type of critical listening at the show but still I really liked what I heard. I hadn't played a Casio in years and this came as a shock to me! They've done a great job at this price range. I might even get the S1000. The fact that you can use the pedal to turn pages and control various functions is great too.
  9. Got it. It'll be a 'new' instrument that we can purchase.
  10. Is Massive X would be treated as a different instrument, or an upgrade to the standard Massive that came with Komplete 12?
  11. Yes, I think we're saying the same thing here. Hopefully one day there will be no need for these huge sample libraries. (including all orchestral libraries). Physical modelling is getting better and better. Ok, so the demo version: 1) 8 notes are disabled (silent): F#1, G#1, A#1, C#5, D#5, F#5, G#5 and A#5. 2) Must be restarted after 20 minutes.
  12. I've yet to play this piano. On KVR I read Pianoteq has a demo version available but it's missing a few notes I think. It should be good enough to demo.
  13. A short instrumental (Pad/Choir/Strings, Piano & Lead Guitar) with Korg Kronos 2 ... [video:youtube]
  14. I've listened to this track a few times now. Very nice indeed! Do you go through setting up all this every time, or this is just how you have your studio configured with mics and instruments?
  15. Welcome to the forum Sam. Nice playing and the Ivory II Steinway sounds good. I don't think I know that piece offhand but parts of it sound familiar. But I won't venture a guess... Thank you Dave. Yes, I love Ivory II. They're pretty flexible pianos. All recordings are just some improvisation in certain styles. That's probably why it sounded familiar. You get around very well on the Kronos action. Personally it's never been a favorite of mine. Perhaps with a better sound source, like here, the player connection would be better for me.
  16. 3 short contrasting recordings: Solo piano: Orchestral/Prog Rock vibe: Abstract/Ambient...:
